Imagine some on this very board were comparing Phillips to Jason Taylor........lol.

I think it's a little early to completely write off Phillips, if he could get some coaching, but man what reach.

Dolphins can't evaluate anyone, that's why they need Deshaun, just don't over pay for the guy.
Dolphins will give up 3 first round picks competing against themselves for him

Before the draft, you should've seen the dumb *** takes by some of our fans for taking Phillips over Rousseau, most had nothing to do with football.

Rousseau's versatility to play inside & outside was good enough reason to take Him over Phillips.
The Bills sounded like they wanted Greg and he was there guy

Tua was a great prospect. The injury made him a good prospect.

He plays very conservative with the Dolphins. I don't want to say he plays scared, but he plays with seemingly zero confidence. No energy.

Herbert plays like everything is on the line...similar to Josh Allen...no fvcks given and they just sling it, mistakes be damned. All confidence. It's the opposite of Tua.

hes an okay prospect. he was good pre injury imo. he lacked physical traits that elite QBs generally have. his arm is def weaker post surgery than pre even if it wasn't a strength to begin with. he had issues reading defenses in college. he does throw the slant well and the underneath stuff but he doesn't seem to throw guys open (didn't do it last year). he kinda waits for them to get open before letting it rip which affects your deep balls.

These are all good takes.

I thought a little bit higher of him as a prospect than some here did tbf. But he plays like a backup right now. Idk.

yeah either way were prolly splitting hairs tbh. he just doesn't do anything on film that says "man with better talent or with this or that, hes gonna be insane"

Yeah, I didn’t get that logic either. Rousseau was obviously in phenomenal shape & his measurable, bro u legit can’t coach.
the problem with drafting waddle was that I thought you could get him where the eagles took Smith (and didn't have to lose your first rounder for it and yes I know it was all a part of one big trade which makes it even worse). seemed like a move to placate Tua. every team has a waddle imo.

hes raw and he was being asked to play a diff position (he never played OLB at Miami and I believe he did some at UCLA but that was so long ago). that's on the fins to move him off the end spot.

You're right. There really are zero splash plays/++ throws to look at and say "he'll get it"...like Trevor Lawrence is having his growing pains, but he makes several throws per game that are out of control, elite level throws that give you confidence **** get it.

Can't say the same for Tua. He looks bad, even when the stat line is pretty decent.

he had better weapons at bama than he does on the pats.

McDaniels is a stud OC imo. hes also running essentially the Brady offense (the. NE Brady O when they don't have Randy Moss lol).

also, it may not be a stretch to think that Mac may have been better than Tua. Tua actually had more talent than Mac did at Bama (ruggs jeudy, smith and waddle) while Mac had (smith and waddle who got hurt halfway through).

yup. also don't tell fins fans that. its Tua is awesome! Herbert would look like *** here too. at some point, the QB just isn't good. I do think 14 starts or so isn't some indictment on him yet but with likely a new GM and HC coming in, they may not be patient with Tua since he isn't their pick. unfortunately or fortunately depending on the person, the fins won't have their high pick this draft and the draft is pretty bad at QB. its either go after Aaron Rodgers or Watson if hes cleared legally or stick it out another year with Tua.

oh mac is absolutely better than tua since he can actually read a defense and deliver accurate throws into windows more than 10 yards away. i'm saying that mac being on the pats isn't why he isn't a bust. mcdaniels isn't running what he ran with brady right now. he's running more of what weis ran with young brady (lots of power running and screens) and is slowly incorporating more responsibility downfield. also the offensive line isn't nearly as good as it was with scarnecchia coaching them.

agreed. I didnt mean to say it was the exact Brady O. I thought they way they managed him in that cowboys game was masterful tbh.

the indictment for me with TUa was game 1. in game 1, Mac looked as good as Tua did and that's the issue. Tua was coming in healthy with a full offseason and 10 starts or so while Mac came in as a rookie starting his first game.
