Ken Dorsey & Paul Hilton

Man yall giving Ken alot of credit. He alone developed Cam Newton? Dude can be the QB coach other than that, No thanks

LOL. Love Kenny but with Briles or even Yost, we're running raw through the ACC. Only knock on these offenses is the majority don't focus at all on defense but we have that covered. Not to mention, Briles is doing what he's doing with Dorito. Let that marinate for a moment.
True but don’t expect him to stay if the offense produce. He’ll be hired away to be a HC. But he’s worth it.

Objectively, being a qb coach in the NFL for 5 years and doing a solid job with Newton after being known as an intelligent player (how else would he have stayed in the NFL so long as a player with limited physical ability?) more than makes him qualified to be a playcaller/QB coach here. He is not a green offensive coach and paid his dues learning and developing in Carolina.

While he's at FIU now, I saw several other young qb coach/assistant qb coach types in the NFL from current top offenses who also looked very interesting:

1) Kevin Stefanski QB coach, Vikings. Been their qb coach last two years and also an assistant qb coach for five years there. 36 years old. Vikings didn't allow Giants to interview him for OC position, though.

2) Marcus Brady, QB coach Colts. Was OC/qb coach for like 5 years in the CFL and learned under Trestman. Also a former great small school QB. 39 years old.

3) Zac Taylor, QB coach, Rams. Former OC at Cincinatti under Tubs and QB coach under Dolphins for 3 years. He's been learning under McVay's system as wr coach and now QB coach. Only 35 years of age.

Obviously if Jon Richt had stayed in the NFL and worked his way up spending time even as an assistant qb coach or passing game coordinator for a few years he would have made sense as a qb coach/understudy. Its depressing to think about.

ROTFLMFAO at Dorsey not being able to call plays at UM....Real hard to whip up a playbook that consists of more than 5 plays....

The question isn't would he be better, it's would he be as good as we deserve? And the truth is there's no evidence either way. Why is it suddenly ok to ignore a lock of DI OC experience if the guy was a former player?

Just because a potential coach has an affiliation with Miami doesn’t always mean they NEED to coach here . There are more innovative coaches out there that we could get than Dorsey who I like a lot and I’m sure all canes fans do... with that being said I’m fine with him as the qb coach but idk about him calling plays yet

Idk man, Butch has unfinished business here and orange and green in his veins. My body is ready ......😎
Boy don't i wish.... was there bigger dumpster fire than FIU, think Butch scared the AD & BOT when he started taking championship. kills me the lack of criticism of AD & BOT..... football wise they have not made a good decision since hiring Butch

it's sad watching Canes fans posting crap like wanting coaches that is a pipe dream. like watching kids in real poor families writing a letter to Santa or people who have never had much money talking about what they would do if they win powerball.
your right, i was on the Butch train and it is wishful thinking..... we hired " safe" with CMR
so we have no real right to lose our mind over Pitt last year, UVA & BC this year, its part of a bad late career arc to CMR
which started last 4-6 years of his time at UGA..... the quote that will live in infamy with CMR for his time at UM
" those pays have worked for 30 years"
