For real what? Guy is terrible but if that's what it is you're not weaseling out of it you made the hire and signed off on it.

The coaching carousel this offseason and probably every offseason hereafter is going to get wild.

People will have a different list, but among those "available", the candidates that seem "safe" are:

- Kiffin
- Drink (not sure he'd leave)
- James Franklin
- Jon Sumrall
- Lashlee
- Brent Key
- Golesh
- Fran Brown (sue me, I think he can recruit)
- Matt Cambell
- Jake ****ert

But how many of those hires are ****?

Schools like LSU and Penn State and Florida know that their fan bases won't accept a G5 hire, no matter how good the candidate, which leaves these programs fighting over the same tiny pool of options.

Now imagine if guys like Kiffin and Drinkwitz decide to stay. LSU fired Kelly to end up with Brent Key? Florida gets Fran Brown? Florida State gets Luther Campbell?

I bet Auburn opens. I still think UNC opens, Stanford is opening, Wisconsin will probably open, Colorado might open b/c of Deion's health, and I wouldn't be shocked if Clemson or Michigan opened either.

Guys like Shane Beamer might get another year just so South Carolina isn't the 9th best job on the market.

I think Beamer ends up at VT. Take that job with little stress vs probably getting fired in a year at USCe

Your last point is probably most intriguing. It is 100% on the money and completely rationale. But fans and boosters won’t accept it for South Carolina or any job. It sets up many schools for and endless cycle.
