Brian Kelly may be a good football coach, but Brian Kelly only cares about Brian Kelly.

He dumped Cincinnati right before the end of their biggest season in history, a few weeks before playing their biggest bowl game ever, the Sugar Bowl against Florida. Yes, it was so he could take the Notre Dame job and I get that that’s a huge job. His reply to criticism was “I had to pay a buyout $2 million” when we all know the Irish paid the buyout.

Notre Dame may have been his dream job until of course LSU called. He wanted SEC money and stature, and you really can’t blame him. But now we see why he couldn’t win consistently at Notre Dame. Marcus Freeman can why couldn’t Kelly? Did the Notre Dame administration decide to invest more money and relax some of their academic requirements? Maybe they did I don’t know.

Kelly came into LSU with his fake Louisiana accent and all his bull**** and never embraced LSU. Some schools have a proud tradition and that needs to be recognized. LSU was only a few years off of a national title. He walked in and fired a lot of people. Just to do it and make everything about him.

Brian Kelly only cares about Brian Kelly.

I think Kelly tried to leverage ND for a pay raise with the LSU interest and it backfired. Swarbrick called Kelly’s bluff because he was tired of Kelly and ready for a change. I don’t think ND has significantly relaxed its requirements for Freeman. Still pretty difficult admission requirements and tough to get transfers in. Most transfers are grad transfers (which is not really an issue at ND) or from schools with pretty solid academics.
 
LSU fired fourth-year coach Brian Kelly hours after Sunday's heated meeting with athletic director Scott Woodward. However, Kelly's bad omen began earlier Sunday when the finger scanner at the Tigers' facilities failed to recognize his print, as CBS Sports' College Football Insiders reported this week.

"When Brian Kelly got to the LSU team building around 8:30 to 8:45 local time on Sunday, he struggled to get into the building," Zenitz said. "They have a system that recognizes your finger to let you into the building. It wasn't recognizing his finger.

"He struggled with that for a couple of minutes and got frustrated before he finally was able to get in. … It was a weird omen."
 
I would not be shocked if they hire Dan Lanning. LSU is a better job when you consider all the factors. Oregon fans are going to lose their **** if that happens.

Gotta figure it’s beyond toxic for him at this point. And depending on what the stipulations are he might not be able to coach for another 5-? years. Might be a mutual parting of the ways with a say, well give you 50% of your buyout and you can go out and get a job as a HC tomorrow……I heard FSu is in the market.

Beyond toxic for him huh? 😭 That very well might be the funniest **** I ever heard. The corch who has caused sun strokes from withholding fluids & making dudes play through concussion flags to the extent he's caused a fatality & sent numerous dudes to the er is gonna have things escalate to the point its too toxic for him... Wonder what his players must feel.
 
I think BK didn’t want to leave ND but ND was offering a 3 or 4 year contract and LSU offered a $100 mil/10 year contract that was 90% guaranteed. BK couldn’t turn it down and Woodward had to save face because it was an open secret that Lincoln Riley was taking the LSU job.

So, LSU provided BK a golden parachute. I wouldn’t be surprised to see BK coach again. Maybe at Cincinnati again or Michigan State.
