Kellen Winslow

Ok, but did u not read the article about Swasey not being able to pass the certification test. That means that he couldn't even supervise the players while they were in the weight room. What's the point of having a strength coach that can't even do his **** job. It's like having an OC, that says, "I'm just showing up for games, fellas. The **** wit that practice crap"!

NFL players comes back to work with him, they could be anywhere else in the world, but they chose to work with him.

Certification is just a paper, means nothing.

Oh boy.

A piece of paper doesn't define someone. Sure it gives you more opportunities but it doesn't make you or break who you are.

I'm going to go out on a limb and guess you didn't go to college.

Has nothing to do with this post of course....

If the piece of paper keeps you from doing your job, then it sure DOES matter!!

Swasey's work has spoken for itself... another underperforming coach removed!!

hilarious...we have SC experts all up and down this site. u got what you wanted and still creating threads to ***** about Swasey. Now also going after Winslow lmao. steady trashing all our old players....who do u people think you are? you think these players are slaves and they owe some type of allegiance to some nerds on a computer? gtfoh message board thugs acting like they know whats good for the players and the program but their only real football knowledge consist of playing madden

I know Richt want to bring in his own staff, I'm all for it, but to sit there and murder Swasey for Golden's strength and conditioning program, is ridiculous.

Seriously? A certification is not just a paper. It tests your knowledge on the field that you're in. The fact that he couldn't pass a basic exam testing his knowledge is quite telling. Swasey gets credit for that title as he worked under Moffitt in the 2000 season where Moffitt went to go leave for LSU. Butch left that team loaded for anyone with half a brain to coach them to a national title.

Look at what he's done under Coker, Shannon, and Golden - ****. If he was such a great S&C coach, Golden wouldn't need to feel that he has to implement his own program. The reasons players feel bad that he was let go was because he was their buddy and he related to them. There are literally dozens of S&C coaches out there that are more qualified and effective then Swasey. The fact that your only argument is the 2001 national title is very telling.

You *****es get so caught up over a tweet, but I'm sorry the players have more rank and authority then u do... Most of y'all were saying the same **** about players that wasn't supporting Al Golden too, but yeah you all have a clue right??

I think Richt's more qualified then you to make the decision to let go of Swasey. He has more rank and authority then anyone on this planet in terms of the direction of the football program.

lmao ive never heard more talk about Strength and Conditioning coaches than these last months. When the year started I couldn't name one off the top of my head other than Swasey. And honestly, i couldnt give less of a fk..last thing on my mind when watching/talking football was the fkin SC coach. Now we got 100 strength and condition experts on the boards, evaluating all types of **** most people probably didnt even know existed, breaking down different programs, and championing SC coaches most people wouldnt have a clue who they were if they saw them on TV.. cant make this stuff up. thats why fan is short for fanatic

Outside of the S&C coaches who were at Miami when I was, Barwis is the only one I ever knew and thats because I got a buddy who is a Michigan fan who was touting the guy when Rich Rod got hired there.

Hate to break it to you, but the strength and conditioning coach is one of the single most important coaches for any football program. Just because you don't talk about it or think its important doesn't change this fact.

and btw, i dont even agree with that statement. that is just something that caught steam now everybody keeps repeating it like a bunch of parrots. i would say a DCoordinator is more important. SC is not that complicated really no matter how many people try to make it seem like rocket science.

restore the swagger to the U! Richt I can promise you takes this more seriously than you ever could imagine. He knows what it takes to WIN! You former players need to get on board with this man and try to help more than hurt. Do you REALLY want Miami to win or do you just want your buds to have a job?

oh and he knows what it takes to win? yea, he know what it takes to win 9-10 games a season. slow your horses.

lmao at him having to show us how to win. Remember, we actually won a championship (shoulda been more) during his tenure in UGA. He still hasn't won anything.

One thing I think we can all agree on is thank God Swasey is unemployed and soon to be homeless.

Swasey helped us win that 2001 championship, he deserves credit.

He followed Golden's guidelines, not his. He ran his program in the offseason with former players that helped them become successful at the next level.

I don't give a **** what anyone says, Swasey did a phenomenal job.

Swasey was horrible. He was horrible under Coker, he was horrible under Shannon, and the fact that Golden had to come in and try to put in his own strength and conditioning program just proves how horrible Swasey was.

It speaks volumes that the only competent, proven coach we've hired in the last 15 years first his ***.

If he was so horrible, how come NFL PRO bowlers come back to exclusively work with him and his program and not their NFL teams?

UM players have come back to workout at UM BEFORE SWASSEY WAS HIRED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
SWASSEY DID NOT START THAT TRADION !!!!!!!
PLAYERS COMING BACK WAS A LONG STANDING TRADITION FROM THE 80's.
IF YOU DINT KNOW THAT THEN YOU DONT KNOW THE HISTORY OF THIS PROGRAM.

If he was so great, how come he failed a certification test administered by the governing body of college sports to test his knowledge and ability to carry out the duties of his position?

I don't like anyone being unemployed, at least I don't take any pleasure in it. I imagine he's made decent money along the way and hopefully he's set some of it aside, planning well for the future.

At worst, certainly he can get some of his deep pocket supporters to get him his own facility if he's not got the money himself. Certainly he has the client base, at least that's what some would have you believe.

Oh really. Is that why Cochran is now making more then MAC coaches at Bama. Guy just got a raise to $500k. ****, even Saban says that Cochran is a significant cog in the machine. If you don't know the value of a good S&C program, then you need to have your head examined. Take a look at Bama physically, then you'll understand why.

whatever you say im not bout to get in yet another long debate about the importance of SC. Agree to disagree, i say its not rocket science you seem to think its super complicated.

I am not saying its not important, but its easier to find a good SC coach than it is to find a good football coach. In other words, its not as highskill job as coaching actual football. Thats all I am saying. It is a job that can be performed by a large segment with little or informal training. Not saying that anybody off the street can be SC coach, but its relatively easy to learn.

If the head coach is the McDonalds manager then the SC coach is the burgerflipper. Easier to teach someone to flip burgers than it is teaching them the intricacies of being a manager.
