2025 Kellen Wiley Jr, LB/ATH - Armwood HS (Tampa, FL) offered

He's toast.

Manny's combine 2026 high school and transfer portal class was 16th of 17 ACC schools, only higher than Virginia. Taken separately, the high school commits were also ranked 16th of 17 teams, the transfer class 12th of 17 (and remember Clemson is always in the bottom because they barely take transfers).

Add that abysmal outcome to the fact he UNDER-performs the mean in evaluations, and Duke is completely screwed. What happened to all their so-called NIL backers? Manny makes Norvell look like a recruiting juggernaut.
I couldn't believe my eyes when mopes here were trying yo insinuate that he wouldve gave us the same results or better then Mario if only he had the same financial backing smh. Dude is a about as terrible at program building as you can be and is a horrible evaluator.. wouldve been wasted money keeping him here.

I'm not sure Wiley is ready yet. He is our most impressive LB physically. But does he know his assignments and has the playbook become reflexive?

IMO, linebacker is the most underrated position of the defense. Guys don't need to be brilliant, but they do need to be quick thinkers and instinctive which often correlates to intellect.

That's why RBs often translate so well to LB. They need to know whom to block, which hole to hit or cutback to, when to peel off for a screen. Lots of motion and fluid assignments. Fletcher has the physicality and also processes information in real time very quickly.

I haven't seen the full field awareness from Wiley yet in his limited snaps. He definitely needs more reps. But he may be a year away.

I couldn’t agree more. Hopefully, we have blowouts early. Lots of guys need those reps. LB & S esp need reps for sight recognition. Their speed and athleticism will show with reps.

Go Canes!

Lots of word salad here. He is the most physically gifted kid in that room (by far), was a highly touted recruit and is entering year two in this defense. By all accounts he's handling his business. We have two elder statesman in that room that will likely see the bulk of the snaps. This kid should be ready for steady rotational snaps, and we shouldn't really question it to be frank. At some point you have to get kids live snaps to see what they got.

Dude is just so lackluster when talent acquisition matters most.

Should be a funny season to watch his pathetic facial expressions throughout the year.

Banda did a ton of the recruiting for Miami back in the day and I don’t see the equivalent of that happening under anybody on his staff right now.

I’m not quite sure why Trent Harris left Illinois to go work under Manny but I feel like our guy just boarded a sinking ship.

My guess is Wiley and Bonner are the 2 deep. I will also guess by the end of the season, Wiley is playing even more and starts next season. I am wishing the best for him. I hope it just clicks finally and he takes off with his potential.
