And to think we had 5-10 Corey Flagg at LB a few years ago
Diaz gave 0 ***** about his own position group. Didn’t imagine it could get worse after Golden & Dorito.

Shaq, Mccloud and Pickney were not his recruits although he benefited from having them.

Diaz didn’t care about the actual human beings playing the position. Guy thought he could teach anyone and outscheme everyone into a good defense year by year.

**** was coaching malpractice how bad he has his own LB room, made no sense he really thought he was smarter than everyone else

Guy had some great halftime adjustments; I’ll give him that. So i can see why he got so ****y. But a third of the reason why those adjustments were continually needed was because his game-plan preparation was so poor. One third was the terrible recruiting by him overseeing the defense. And the last third was his poor coaching/development.

In some ways he was worse than Golden. Some lol.

Really just a dreadful experience knowing we could’ve had Mario but it is what is. So glad we got our get back against Duke with Mensah and Cooper lmfao. We’re even now.

I want my LBs 5'10-6'1 and between 220-235. Them Katzenmoyer type LBs are played out like Kwame and them **** polka dots
It doesn’t have to be one or the other. We took JJ Edwards and Jordan Campbell in the same class as Karsten Busch.

We took Wiley in the same class as Ezekiel Marclin.

Hetherman and Mario wouldn’t pass on what could be the next Perryman.

Nate Webster is my model for a college LB
I'll take Ray Lewis, Patrick Willis, and Brian Bosworth as my model for college LB. The 3 best college inside linebackers of all time, IMO. Throw Dan Morgan in there too. They were all over 6' and 240. Probably played closer to 220-230 in college, but they are big dudes.

Bradley Jennings JR was our best LB in 2020. Corey Flagg was our best LB in 2021 and 2022 (Mario's 1st year). Let that sink in for a minute. That's how bad the LB room was under Diaz. Those 2 would barely sniff the field if they played on our current team. Probably wouldn't even be on the roster and would have transferred (like Flagg did in 2024).

Facts

When they sometimes say his IQ is his best attribute for a physical position where they are under sized its basically a nice way of saying he aint it. But a lot of people on the board were on board with it, I was like Texas TAMU and all those Texas schools said no thanks, then people were arguing cause of HS MVP's which dont mean a **** thing. Always go by who is recruiting you and who are the upper echelon schools on the trail during that time. To me that usually is the most important indicator besides film. As a person though Flagg was a good dude I liked him, but I didnt want my UM linebackers playing like that.

Lmao same guy who holds two records giving up the most rushing yards in a game . Once at Texas and once with us . I never see nothing like it . Looked like a senior highschool running back playing pop warner kids

You prefer the 6'4" 230-240 LB like Wiley and Chase. That doesn't mean they have to have those measurables.
You prefer tall long CB's, but I love Gourdine. I think he's going to to be a great nickel with his height.

Golden wasn’t right for the job/bad fit and just too stubborn. Manny was just not qualified to be the HC of Miami at that time. It was utter incompetence by the admin to hire him.
