He may have to ... Forston, Silvera, Taylor and Scott all started games as TF, I believe. And all played "well enough" though certainly not playoff caliber. And we had some other freshmen over the years that started out of necessity that were abysmal. I would expect Simpson to fall in the former category in a "break glass in emergency" situation.

Whatever Wiley JR's role is this season, he'll be one of the odds-on favorites to start in 2026. For that reason alone, we need him to see the field more and more as the season goes on, as we need him seasoned thereafter.
