Kellen Wiley (hurt?)

I watch the live games. I've been to two games and seen the rest on tv. I'm a ex football player myself. I'll put it like this a lot of these young dude have the things you cant coach size athleticism etc they just don't have the reps under their belt and need to refine some things. But I would rather roll with the young guys than the older guys who we know what they are. I think Pitt might be the team that gives us a real dogfight and I hope we have everything squared away by notre dame.

I get what you’re saying but the other young guys are out there playing n getting plenty reps but Wiley isn’t for some reason. Why do you think that is ?

don't disagree - but you're not winning more playing time but *****ing about it publicly either. grind and prove you deserve more PT. you want to talk to coaches privately and ask for more of a chance, do it. but grievances on social media are ALWAYS a bad look and rarely makes the situation better.

I only speak for me. I could care less that his dad posts, although I’m glad he’s a cane fan.

I think the kid should get snaps. I’ve seen enough to see the explosive athleticism. Kids like him need game reps to grow. Everyone is saying to play congdon and Cantwell to learn on the job because they are physical freaks. Kellen is in that same category in my opinion. And if he blows some plays we teach him and if we find out he can’t play we let him go.

We have guys who shouldnt even be in college anymore playing year 8 and 6 and they have green light to blow assignments, they not dade county boys either let the record show lol.. Politics as usual..

I don’t disagree with you at all man. Coaches do weird stuff and play or don’t play kids who we think should/shouldn’t in all sports and all levels. Just gotta see what happens, hope he’s patient and it all works out.
 
For me Wiley prob was hurt since he seems to not have played at all - not even ST like he normally does on Kickoff.

A) I think the fact that Staff hasn't developed Wiley above Smith in order is a fail

B) I think the fact that Staff is constantly playing Toure and Smith at same time is a fail. But no more so than on non 1sts/2nd&shorts.

C) Regardless what is up with Wiley, Pruitt or Bonner (well and Wiley too obviously) should have been getting force fed snaps Starting with Either 1 of Toure or Smith in with them. This criticism isn't just about Wiley not getting PT. It's about choosing to start Toure And Smith all/most the game together.

So far snaps (against 3 garbage teams mind you):
Player - D snaps, Coverage Snaps (% of total), ST Snaps,
Chase Smith - 136 Snaps, 95 (70%), 41
Toure - 128, 77 (60%), 11
Bonner - 65, 42 (65%), 29
Pruitt - 50, 35 (70%), 46
Marcelin - 35, 20 (57%), 49
Wiley - 30, 11 (37%), 21
Busch - 7, 2 (29%), 23
Campbell - 2, 0 (0%), 8
