Keith Heckendorf?

They are not my first choices...but if you can get Heckendorf or Johns a bit cheaper than a premium OC and you can backfill the salary for OL Coach and WR Coach and get some more qualified guys there, I think its a fine enough hedge. The upgrade in coaching and recruiting might be worth taking a bit of a downgrade from my Gleeson dreams.

Finally someone on here who understands budgeting & tradeoffs, thank you. With this said the $ situation is interesting. Enos's buyout (est. $1.5M for another year of salary) has to ******* hurt. That said, Blake knows his own job is potentially on the line so i would think he would open up the checkbook at much as he can for a rockstar OC for Manny...

Too many people worried about being right vs wanting the Canes to succeed no matter who ends up as the OC.

Any True cane will take winning over the joy of saying I told you so. Smh

Heckendorf probably will not end up being the guy anyway, My money is on SEAN GLEESON (not an insider just a hunch).
If that's the case Miami better pay up cause Rutgers is going to throw the bag at him.

The reality is, we SHOULD have a much higher budget than we do...and its incredibly frustrating to see this school constantly nickel and dime. We can't compete with Alabama, LSU, and Georgia types financially, but we don't have to constantly be down here slumming like a poverty person hiring dollar store trash like Taylor Stubblefield and Butch Barry.

How do you guys know about this limited budget? We paid about 5 times too much for Penos then let him hire whoever he wanted. He just happened to hire the bums he knew from his CMU days. Then we fired him after a year without a peep.

Word is Soffer was ready to pony up $10M to buy out Cristobal’s contract with Oregon. The money is there.

Because we follow up pretty significant offers to Enos and Diaz (with his buy out) with nickel and dime average on their best day Group of 5 coaches.

I think the money is there for certain things, but there is clearly a budget...why doesn't Soffer offer up $10 for the rest of the staff right here and right now. $10M would buy a staff so good Diaz could head coach from the beach.

If its there, then none of this (OC hire, assistant hires, etc) should be a problem...Miami should pay top dollar...but they don't, because seemingly that $10M is only for one thing? I don't buy that either, but I think its pretty obvious considering our assistant hires that there is a budget and the allocation is a little wonky.

I think Gleeson goes to Rutgers before UM (also a hunch).

LOL I believe that just like I believed your prediction of Dalvin Cook coming to UM.
