If Scott's a full go I expect we will see Fitz in on a minimum of 15-30 snaps (depending upon the # of plays A&M runs) like he had been playing with Scott healthy (outside UL when he only got 6 snaps). Does A&M go 4WR much?
Not that much 4WR, but their TE is viable and especially used off of their top 2 WRs (dragged behind or underneath). Again, think too many are underestimating TAMU’s offensive ceiling.

Thanks. The Swedish TE has impressed me. Boekircher is a big guy who is a threat in the passing game too. Does Niblack still get snaps for them? I know he hasn't done much since Bama in '23 but I don't like Toure or Chase in coverage against him.

They have a lot of weapons. If Moss is healthy and they're able to run the ball inside the tackles we're going to have to score a lot of points on offense. We have been really good against the run, so I am optimistic we can limit their RBs. Best case is we stuff their RBs, make them one dimensional. I think our pass rush would get home and we could force Reed into turning the ball over

Do you think OJ should start again if he's healthy? I think he should, and maybe Lucas sees the fewest snaps of our four corners in this game. All 4 of their WRs are smaller guys. OJ has struggled against bigger, physical WRs at the catch point, IMO. I think he and O'Conner matchup best against A&M WRs outside, but am curious to hear what you think since you know a lot more about Dbs than I do.

I’m still making my way through their games. Little by little. I did watch the Texas game in full and now have watched 2 more games. I would expect them to use Owens a bunch against us - even in the passing game.

I try to look at the games as ‘what can they do to make us feel uncomfortable to line up.’ They have a bunch of motion and horizontal stuff. One fake jet sweet to Concepcion and Owens is 1 on 1 with Toure in the middle of the field or down the opposite hash, and it’s trouble.

Lashlee tried that 2020 Louisville QB fake run then pass to the RB (think it was to rooster back then) TWICE on us in Dallas. Almost disrespectful. That tells you where he thought our holes existed. He wasn’t wrong, even if it didn’t go for a TD. If I’m Toure, I tackle Owens and take the penalty. Half kidding.

They can do a ton more than SMU bc their OL is actually quite solid and Reed slides and extends to throw better than Jennings.

To answer your question about DBs, I’m not sure yet. I wouldn’t sit Lucas. TAMU has a WR (Bethel-Roman) with whom I want Lucas streaking vertically. I have to see more to say. I’ll keep adding as I watch more.

Thanks. Didn't Rhett get an SMU RB wide *** open on the far side of the field too and he just dropped it? That was a long TD or close to it if he caught It IIRC. (Think it was the 3rd and 4 pass to Harden on their second drive of the 3rd quarter).

I gotta catch up on the rewatches later this week. From what I remember watching 4-5 of their games live, I think we're going to be able to move the ball against their defense and score. I am super bullish on our offense. Hot QB, Fletcher should be back to 100%, and hopefully this is the game that Pringle pops a 50+ yard run.

They are like SMU on steroids on offense though, and SMU was as close as our defense came to having a "bad" game. Still only gave up 20pts in regulation because we stopped the run. We gave up 5 plays of 20+ yards but max was 40 yards. Similar performance against A&M playmakers and they prolly score more and those chunk plays get a lot chunkier.

Yeah. He even attempted it again. FSU attempted it. Other teams have tried their own versions. I feel like we’ve gotten away with some stuff for that weak spot.

so, here's the problem. I'm glad Scott is going to return. But what happens with Fitzgerald? Does he play on obvious passing downs as a spy?

4 DL
1 LB
1 Spy (Fitzgerald)
5 DBs (2 CBs, Nickel (Scott), two safeties (Thomas and
i think we will need Bryce more at saftey play center field and maybe #7 at spy! Fitz has a lot more speed

Agree with this, I saw some of the texas all 22 film and saw plays where texas at snap had Safeties with 25-30 yard depth to take away tamu big play ability..

Obviously when watching with rival texas commentary they were calling him Marcel "One" Reed as they were saying you take away his first read and force him left and everything just crumbles in offense..
