Apex defender! Replacing him next year will be very difficult and will be a priority when the portal opens up. It's not just about talent and physical skill. With Keionte it's just as much about character and leadership! Absolute legend!

I actually think that role should be given to Fitz / Pruitt and just find more depth. Fitz is a superstar in the making and with a little more physical development, he will have all of the skills to be a first team All American in that spot, with the versatility to play deep satiety when Pruitt rotates in for heavy run downs.

Hmmm.....I don't necessarily disagree but I think Fitzgerald is better off at FS where he can roam and use his instincts, range and ball hawking skills. Now if we could genetically combine Fitzgerald and Pruitt thst would be ideal. I just don't think Fitzgerald is physical enough or strong enough to fill Scott’s role the way Scott is being used this season. I like Pruitt and his potential but he needs more live reps. The idea of platooning them both at Nickel is intriguing but I would feel better about having one player with Scott’s skill set which is unreal. I'm not sure most realize what a versatile player Scott is. He can cover man to man, he can play zone, he can stuff the run and he can blitz but he isn't just versatile, he does each at a very high level. Sometimes Hetherman even gives him a gap responsibility vs the run. We'll see how the staff handles this in the offseason. Maybe your way works. I just know that I'm going to hate losing him.

Heatherman has actually been playing Fitz and Pruitt there while Scott was injured and Pruitt has made some good plays against the run especially in the Pitt game.

I agree with Fitz ability as a deep safety and what’s cool about Heatherman he has no problem playing guys in multiple spots, it only makes the defense more dangerous because teams won’t be able to key on Fitz.

My idea is you use Fitz like a weapon all over the defense, playing him at nickel and both safety spots. So the task for the staff would be finding the guy who will play nickel or safety when Bryce is playing the opposite position.
