Fair. But are we using the last decade as our metric moving forward or are we learning from past mistakes.

I feel like Bryce would have never played safety before Mario. He would have been on the bench until he put on more weight.

So there are some signs of change.

Jaquon Johnson, Kinchens, James Williams, all started as freshman didn’t they. Lb it’s only bed wes since like quarterman class to even play in like first 3 yrs at lb… and Wes was a horrible tackler tthis year

James Williams would have started at LB like we wanted too.

Also, the players you just listed are active NFL players and one may end up being a pro bowler.

Did we really want some of these players pre Mario to be starting for us?

The talent level is extremely different.

I’m not disagreeing with you from our past, I’m just disagreeing about current and future.

That being said…I could be wrong because I feel like Wiley should have played over a certain LB who has vastly underperformed IMO.

I mean we literally saw Kellen Wiley basically not get ANY PT when our Lb unit was by far the weakest on the defense and our LBs sucked at tackling and were atrocious defending the pass all season…

Wiley, Bobby Washington, Busch, even Pruitt… these guys should be playing. And LB is near the top of portal list

I mean… I want them to play…I just have zero faith it’s not gunna be some bs like getting Chase Smith another year, Popo and Bonner… along with a portal lb.

Ultimately we just need to Hit on the portal Lb. I’m very confident though that Busch won’t be playing next season.

I hear you. I know you’re not like some of the others saying it out of spite. I just am hopeful mostly because Hetherman is a LB guy by trade.

Maybe Wiley isn't as good right now as the board thinks. CIS thought Trader and Lyle were All Americans a few months ago.

True. Linebacker is a very mentally demanding position and not everyone can walk in day 1 and start. Plus, we had lots of upperclassmen at the position and were in mostly close games all year.
