2027 Kaden Henderson 5* LB from Tampa Jesuit

Sends a message and I love it. Even though I really wanted Henderson in this class. We were in the dam championship game. We kicked ND and A&M’s ***. We had 3 first rounders. And your slow playing us? We’re not desperate anymore.

Hopefully it’s a little wake up call for Jacobs too. Needs to be a FOMO. We’re the prize right now. Join the team, get developed into a 1st rounder, compete for a championship. Or get your *** kicked living in freaking Ohio, College station etc

Would agree but we don't have all the facts. Who knows what was going on behind the scenes/if the kid's agent was continuously trying to leverage us for a bigger bag. May have gotten to the point that Mario was done with the nonsense and decided to take it public to show he wasn't wasting anymore time with the games
This isn’t the first time he’s done this, not a huge deal but just odd that they feel the need to do it

I never believed the Henderson hype, but I am a big fan of Randle.
Randle is a baller with ya C. I did love Henderson’s film. And I was with the staff when they pressed. But clearly the two we have are the goods and we are gonna take that money and go add 4 kids at other spots. I’m sure edge safety receiver and O line are the targets

I could never bring myself to watch Henderson film. Seemed like a familiar recruitment from the jump.

Something unique happened here. Mario is still recruiting Mark Matthews, for the record. For them to publicly tell the reporters to put it out there that we're not recruiting this kid anymore, something specific happened. And no, it's not the kid telling Miami someone else is leading or **** even that he committed somewhere else. This staff simply doesn't take no for an answer.

So he did something specific they didn't like, or simply the price became not worth negotiating. Similar to Brewster. I think his camp is saying numbers Miami simply has no desire to even pretend to entertain. I suspect something similar happened here. Miami has 2 kids they love in the bag, those kids are locked in, and they're simply unwilling to spend a number they feel doesn't even come close to making sense for a 3rd linebacker.

That's about the only reason I can think of Mario just giving up on a kid. He is a T-1000, he doesn't just stop chasing you.
I think this is mostly correct. Especially about the backers. Miami was on Henderson hard. I still think if Miami wanted him they could have had him. But with two kids in the bag ( Randle will see snaps ) they are using their resources on other need positions. And you’re right. They made it public. We don’t do that for no reason.

We all know Hypo is a main target. We also know Matthews will still be recruited hard. Jacobs also. Gonna be interesting to see how this unfolds with these final 3-4 spots

ND and A&M are obsessed with spending money for recruiting purposes to look like they are making a splash. he will benefit.

Yup. ND especially wanted to be relevant on the national stage again. It hurt them DEEPLY to do all that whining about how they should have gotten in over us, then only to see us nearly run the table. They’re desperate.

yeah real desperate. I dont feel bad for them because it's happened to us a million times. We should have made it over Tennessee the year before. That being said, they were better than that trash Alabama team.

Both are probably more ready than MM.
And this is the difference between spending money, and being smart. TAMU is recruiting like we did under Larry Coker. Just take all the guys at the top of every position list, regardless of fit or depth chart. It didn’t pay off for us

Henderson has to sit a year, isn’t he like 210? His film looks great but I seen linebackers with similar tape never to be heard from again.
He is primarily an athletic pass rusher going downhill on his film. We don't see him in coverage or diagnosing plays like a college LB would need to do. He has all the physical tools to be good but he's a bit of a gamble. I am glad we aren't getting him tbh cuz we need true backers only in that room right now.

Exactly why im ok with this. Linebacker evals are pretty much a crapshoot. No one has any clue if he can be an effective off the ball linebacker and too expensive to find out.
