I agree with most of your comment, [MENTION=7854]Gatorhater[/MENTION]. It still doesn't mean that backs don't have any value. Elite all-down backs are still in high demand. You just don't see teams taking risks on backs like they used to. Cook and Fournette are as good as you'll see for a least a couple years. Elliot is not in the same category as those other two, but he's been projected in the top 10 multiple times.

Dalvin Cook is explosive, but he puts the ball on the ground, is injury prone, & has off-field concerns. I'd take Fournette or Chubb over him.

Don't you remember Chubb's gruesome knee injury? Dalvin has lingering hamstring issues and is still more explosive than both of those guys. Dalvin and Fournette are 1a 1b RBs in next years draft if I'm a GM, just depends on preference of running style.

This... The guy played through a hamstring injury for majority of the season and still had over 1600 yards rushing and looked faster than most people on the field WHILE being injured at the same time...

And barely practiced in the offseason due to being suspended until the lawsuit was settled. That's probably the reason he had lingering injuries to start with, missing camp and not being in "football shape"

He practiced with the team. And cook wasn't out of shape at all. Now, he missed the spring with shoulder surgery. Red flag for NFL teams. Fournette is clear cut #1 right now. Chubb will rise up this year also. I'll take all 3 over Elliot, who I think is a good player, really good.

I agree Fournette will be the 1st RB taken but Im not so sure about number one overall..
I'd say Watson or DE Myles Garrett from TxAM..a flatout stud

I agree about Elliot. If Fournette and Cook were in this years draft, Elliot would not even get mentioned in 1st round. But Gurley is the new gold standard. As good as Cook is, and he is good, he does not touch that level -- his speed is classic but power and size not in same class. Fournette, assuming he continues to form, is more the monster that gets that high pick attention. Now there are some teams who depend much more on the run and they will look at RBs different. Once on NFL field, Cook's speed will not net all those long TD runs it does in college and he will take a bigger pounding. That is the big different. He could go 1st round but not top ten.

. Like another poster already mentioned the shoulder injury is a red flag...one could argue....Elliot is bigger and more durable...also has elite speed....better pass blocker....complete NFL back. After the Houston game, I'm not sold on Cook as a complete every down back. He doesn't like to grind between the tackles reminds me of Reggie Bush..Elliot showed up in big games ...punished a top 5 Michigan defense on the road....ran all over Notre Dame in bowl ...broke it open vs Bama in championship game....Cook punked by Houston....fumbles vs Oregon...disappeared 2nd half vs Clemson....Chubb and Fournette need to show up more (this season) in big games to compare to Elliot.IMO Dont get me wrong all three are very talented....just making a case for Elliot..when given the opportunity to shine... that dude always showed up in the spotlight..

Chubb will have to prove he is back 100%. Those "Ray Rice/Maurice Jones Drew" type RBs dont usually go in the first. (short, stocky, not elite speed) Both those guys went second round. I would be shocked if Chubb is a first rounder.
