Real question: How much do being sponsored by Adidas do you think has affected our recruiting? Think about it, what top athlete is being sponsored by Adidas right now? Why did Tennessee take less money from Nike to leave Adidas? Why did Ben Simmons take less money from Nike to sign with them instead of Adidas? Why did Michigan's apparel sales go down after the switch?

Every top recruit waits on that Nike invite, and right now, the top recruiting schools are either Nike or UA.

The top recruiting schools are Nike because Nike has the top schools. Alabama or FSU's recruiting success is their coaches success not Nike's.

Well explain USC v UCLA back in the late 90's? USC was god-awful w/ horrible coaching, while UCLA was going to Rose Bowl after Rose Bowl; yet top rated local kids were still going to SC over UCLA.

Pretty sure Alabama could switch to K-Swiss and they'd still have 5 star players begging to play there. If Nike is a huge factor in recruiting, why doesn't Oregon consistently rank near the top in recruiting? Miami's average recruiting class has ranked higher than Oregon's over the last five years despite Oregon being a national power and having everything Nike could ever offer and more than any other school will ever get from them.

Well explain USC v UCLA back in the late 90's? USC was god-awful w/ horrible coaching, while UCLA was going to Rose Bowl after Rose Bowl; yet top rated local kids were still going to SC over UCLA.

Clearly because of Nike. Case closed.
 
Everybody in southern California knows you go to USC to play football UCLA for basketball. Sure, once in a while UCLA has a nice run in football or USC strings together a tournament team or two but the general consensus is the top footballers go to SC and the basketball guys go to UCLA.

Also, Michigan's apparel slump happened to coincide with their football team sucking. Those two things tend to go hand in hand.

I agree with you for the first part and respectfully disagree with you on the second statement. Michigan was sucking before the apparel switch and their revenue was doing just fine on the sales. It immediately slumped after Adidas took over. The same thing happened with the jersey sales for the NFL...took an immediate dive once Adidas took over. Soon as they switched back to Nike, the sales immediately increased by 500%. That's not an accident

Yes...of course they complained. Every school has a band of merry morons that non-stop complain about the uniforms. Bunch of grown men whining about the apparel brand (which Adidas is still a great brand)...its childish.
