Why should we go after him? Doing so will assuredly force Williams to bolt. It seems to creat more mess.

Umm it's Justin Fields, plus if he plays right away with the waiver he is attempting to get he will have a one-year separation from Williams. But if Williams is the player we think and want him to be he will stick around for at least a year and compete against Fields
 
Let the best man win but we ain't getting feilds anyway. I do think both Williams and Perry have a nice future ahead of them though. Richt really screwed up benching Perry as he set him back. This season was about getting him reps whether we win 7 games or 5. Next season the roster ( with the exception of the OL maybe ) is stacked . We needed him to be ready.

Spencer rattler hasn’t signed an LOI and yet Riley give 2 Shiites and is out there full court pressing for fields.
Bama has 2 qb’s in the roster that have won national championships.
More money more problems.
You want to be a top team you genuinely inherit certain “problems”.
 
Or he may not be good and we chase a kid who could be better but just not given the chance. Unless Richt sees something he doesn’t like in Williams, I can’t see why we go after him. If he were a senior, the yes.

No one knows what Williams will do because he wasn’t used despite mediocre QB play throughout the year. He could be upset about that and now we are openly reaching out for other QB options. In hindsight there has been so much amongst the players we don’t really know who is happy and who isn’t.

No one knows what Williams will do. All we do know is he was never utilized during the 4 game skid largely due to mediocre QB play. Moreover, going after these high-profile QB’s shows Richt has little or no confidence in Williams. The environment has also been toxic so we don’t know what this latest overture would mean for the QB room
