Justice article on player bonding

I agree w/ you that Golden and Richt was notorious of holding on to staff members, but we still had turnover:
Fisch, McDonald, Richardson, Barrow, Carroll, Franklin, Swasey were all shown the door w/in a 4 1/2 yr period.

Then Richt made a complete overhaul of the entire previous staff.
3 yrs later, we have an entire overhaul on the offensive side of the ball.
1 yr later, we have another overhaul of the offensive side of ball.

Fisch and Franklin both left for promotions to the NFL, if you can believe it or not. Even though both of them (especially Franklin) sucked, somehow the NFL was interested in them. They definitely did not get fired.

The other guys you mentioned were all Golden assistants who Richt fired.

That’s the norm at any school, not just Miami, when a head coach gets fired. Practically the entire staff usually gets fired with them.

To rephrase my previous post slightly, neither Golden nor Richt ever fired a single assistant who they themselves hired.

Quit feeding the trolls, they'll never go away like a stray cat.

Not really true. We had 2 straight coaches- Golden and Richt- who never fired a single assistant. For God’s sake, Richt decided to resign rather than fire his son and possibly Searles. And I’m not aware of a single assistant at UGA who Richt decided to fire on his own- every time he fired an assistant, it seems to have been because the UGA admin forced him to do so, about 2 years too late.

And Golden was beyond notorious for holding on to bad assistants, most infamously Dorito. His butt buddy.
The Clappy purge, all of Radio's offensive coordinators, Michael Barrow , and alltbe offensive dudes that ***** has canned. That sounds like a formidable amount of turnover...

Bruh, I'm literally looking at all the names that have come and gone and my man is telling me......naw. lol.

Brennan Caroll and Jethro were fired.

It just wasn’t announced as such.

Caroll and Franklin both took NFL jobs. Sounds like they got promotions. (Not that they deserved promotions.)

Anyway, Golden and Richt never fired anybody. Shannon fired a zillion people, but didn’t get good replacements.

Diaz is firing a zillion people, just like Shannon. And TBH I don’t think he’s improving anything with the new hires.

Caroll took an assistant OL coach job with Seattle under his dad.

Franklin took a job under Jack Del Rio, who is one of his best friends.

They were both told to look elsewhere for employment.

Carroll actually got the main OL coach job. Not the assistant OL job. Agree that his dad is probably the only NFL coach who would be willing to hire him.

TBH, I suspect that Golden’s entire staff was looking for new jobs after 2014 because they were afraid Golden would be fired the next year. And that Caroll and Franklin were the only 2 guys who could land new jobs.

As long as you're truly sorry and wracked with life-long guilt, I can find it in my heart to forgive you. The Lord though...well that's another matter.
"The Lord"? What does my wife have to do with this? Please don't tell her.

He didn’t.

He was assistant OL coach under Tom Cable and now Mike Solari.
even longtime Pete Carroll buddy Golden Ruel (former UM player) didn't get head OL coaching job at Seattle. I believe he was head OL coach under Carroll at USC but had to be assistant OL coach when they moved to Seattle. No way Pete was going to make Brennan full OL coach with Seahawks. Nick Sorensen (son of a uM player) served apprenticeships for years first as a special teams assistant, then a secondary assistant, then full secondary coach.

The amusing part to all of this is y'all are so confused why this team is so soft... Our oline coach goes around coddling kids and nurtures there egos and our dline coach makes sure to bring in various frozen treats and pies with sprinkles and **** on them continuously. A team plays to a coaches personality & it's lines strengths... Self explanatory.

Gotta say, weird time to be posting this. The o-line is improved because of Justice, and there are many words I’d use to describe the d-line before the word soft.

There’s a definite use for aggression and hardness, but it has to be constructive and Searels was awful at that.

I know you know Searels had no connection to his players and had no idea how to communicate with them.

Is it safe to say there is a steady stream of former players who have let the coaching staff (or the players themselves) know they are being too soft on current players?

I’m sure players would prefer Justice bring his wife to suck face when they get off the bus similar to Mullen’s wife. Sure wouldn’t be soft then
