Just When I Thought ESPN…

It’s simple. Just win. It’s been this way with ESPN for decades now and to be fair we’ve been irrelevant for two of the last ones. Just win.

They showed the first touchdown pass from Cam to Restrepo. That was the extent of it.

The one that said that was the host. Mullen and Galloway completely ignored Miami. During SportsCenter, they said that the Canes were still a question mark.

If you can’t see that they’re trying to harm us in recruiting with this B.S., then I guess you’re willingly blind. E$ECPN is a disgrace, and everything they do is carefully calculated.

A lot of the blue bloods have struggled with G5 and FCS teams this season, and you don’t see any of them getting this from these jabronies.

Missouri has been a nobody for decades, and all of a sudden they’re a supposed Top 10 team, even though they look like caca. 7 of the Top 10 are $EC. Wake up and smell the coffee.

Those are all valid points and it's frustrating to witness on a weekly basis and, as you note, it is calculated and designed to affect our recruiting.
Having said this, if we continue to play exciting football, develop talent into NFL players and serious Heisman hopefuls, we will get our share of blue chippers. For better or worse, these kids don't think the way the previous generation of talented ballers used to think. They couldn't care less about the espin dorks and more what the prospective programs can do for them. As long as we maintain a strong NIL program, have serious coaches on staff, recruit hard and win, we will be OK.

I just don't think today's high school players give a rip about the modern day Beano Cooks, Brent Mursbergers, Lee Corsos, Mark Mays, etc have to say. In fact, even someone like a Herbstreit who was kind of like the "cool" guy, is more establishment. These kids care about different factors of college football then the guy who attends games or watches 12 hours of football in his man-cave, relying on every single word oozing out of Jim Rome, Wilbon and Paul Finebaum's mouth.

I was watching Sportscenter and College Gameday Final and they showed only one Miami highlight, and barely mentioned that we destroyed Ball State.

All they did was show the Gayta and Holes getting their a$$es kicked, and saying that the state of Florida is terrible this season.

Talk about trying to recruit for the $EC in a very veiled way. The only thing that they said about Miami is that it was way too early to say that the Canes are great this season, because they haven’t played anybody.

But they didn’t say that about TN, Taint, Baga and other teams that have played even worse comp than we have so far.
