I'm turning 38 in March. Wednesday night was the best day of my adult life as a Canes fan. I was 13 when Miami won its last natty. Before two Saturdays ago, I had only witnessed two bowl wins for Miami since graduating high school. The closest I can say I've felt to last night was 2017 vs Notre Dame.

I know the job is not done, but I was in Jerry's World for the game. To win that game, and to beat that team, in that way, meant something. I could have passed out I was hootin and hollerin and celebrating so hard. I know I'm not the only one, but I just wanted to share this. It was awesome! I'm excited for the Fiesta Bowl go Canes!

I’m 42 now but almost identical feeling. I had similar feelings in thinking this was most excited I’ve been since Bandys pick 6 against ND. We were going nuts on Scotts pick-6.

Had my 5 month old crying and our 6 year olds jumping and celebrating too. Will undoubtedly be a memory I never forget.

Don’t want this season to end. Just win!

I was wit a bunch of teens and younger adults.. Hearing them say wit awe that they NEVER saw a good Miami team, never actually beat a good team in their entire life was something that you know but dont really take in until it slaps you in the face.. MOST of us atleast have seen some type of success but its been so so long that entire generations dont even know what that energy is for THIS team..

You have entire generation now who will want to be canes and its gonna be beautiful

Yeah I’ve had people in their 30’s tell me that. All depends on when they started following CFB.

But that’s something I’ve heard from a lot of people under 35.

You know what this is really going to impact? The little kids playing Optimist ball. That's what Cristobal knows. That's what built the old Canes dynasties: the kids and their parents who were Canes fans and wanted their kids to wear that helmet.

Now the Administration and the Coaching Staff have picked the baton up out in the neighborhood. Canes Football isn't a pathetic joke anymore. You don't have to go to Tuscaloosa, Columbus or Athens to play in Prime Time anymore. That's what the kids, this young generation coming up, are growing up with.

Same age as you.

I remember the OSU loss pretty clearly. We had just moved into a new house, a new area, new demographics, a new school, everything. We did not even have much furniture yet. The TV was on the floor, we had one small couch, and I laid on the floor right in front of it to watch the game.

From 08 to 22, I never missed a game. I planned everything around watching the Canes, skipped social events, rearranged plans, all of it. Admittedly, after the coaching carousel, I started to lose a little faith in the program. I would miss a few games here and there, right up until this year.

Now my wife and kids watch the games with me, so this season became more of a family thing. After the first two losses, I just explained, this is what it is. But then the playoff berth brought some life back into all of us. I was very cautious emotionally going into that game, but when it ended, I had to get up and walk around. I felt something hit me. We had actually done it. We had actually become relevant again.

Now I am watching Georgia and Ole Miss and thinking about how we could exploit either team. Both have plenty of gaps, not that we are free of them, but our big boys would dominate either group.

Man, it feels good to be a Cane again.
