The Rat turns 50...

What an establishment...

I spent many late evenings there in my law school days.

My favorite moment was watching Hogan v The Rock Wrestlemania on the screens there. The crowd was all Rock until the finger wag. Then Hulkamania ran wild.

It was the best place on campus. Spent many great moments there. Passed out only to wake up untouched in the old building many times. Staff would just be cleaning up as I'd wander off one of the chaise longues they had and would stroll back to my dorm.

The new Rat is nice, but the old rat felt like a true pub and eatery. It was dark and a great place to getaway on an afternoon.

Old was better because it was grittier. First beer I had in Miami was at the Rat.
