Just saw the Arkansas State game.

Some people say it ain't the coaching it's the players... bulls it that's coaching all day every day.

Watch the game again.... the players were in the right spots many of the times and simply didn't make the play or failed to make the tackle. That's not coaching that's on them. Coach isn't coming out on the field to tackle a player, its his job to get you in the right position

It's the type of coaching the way they teach the kids to play the man and not the ball ...if you are not good playing the man without grabbing it will be call PI ever time.

Is our defensive backfield taking medication that makes them soft, half assed tacklers and unable to look at where the ball is being thrown?

Outside of Corn Elder, the rest of these guys look disinterested and completely lost when the ball is in the air.

Tracy Howard is simply lazy.

Fire Williams?

Sure u just watched the game and then come on here with an original take when a thread that was going on for a week is about on the sMe subject. With all that said you guys try to hard with this nonsense. The coaches stink. But dissecting every little thing is pointless not to mention u guys are hypocrites and don't even see it. Let me explain. Corn looks good. A Crawford has played well according to whT I have read. So geniuses let me ask a question. Who coaches them? Let me guess they are savages and do what they want, you say. But wait golden and Doritos are stubborn and if u don't do exactly as they say, you don't play. With as poor as we have looked changes will happen but dissecting every little thing as proof is a waste of time and stupid

I think Gunter is good. Is he lockdown? No. But buddy wasnt some 5 star stud out of JUCO either so he is playing as well as his expectations.

Crawford from all reports played well throughout the Spring. Now it is translating to the field. Not surprised by his play.

Elder is going to take Burns spot soon.

Burns is a great athlete and we are all just praying it clicks for him one day. No excuse for him not to be lockdown. I have a renewed hope in the "Light turning on" theory after seeing what Thurston Armbrister has done so far this year. He is in line for the annual "Darrel McClover/Marcus Maxey" award given yearly to the player who spent their entire career as an after thought and scrubbing the bench only to ball out there final year here.

Howard as I have said before either is having relationship issues with his girlfriend or is not getting along with coaches. Either way he is coming across VERY weak mentally. Thought he was more mentally tough then that. Real dissappointed so far in his play.

Burns??? what happened when that qb caught the ball, he was in position to make a play and the ******* QB beats you to the sideline before you even TOUCH him... uhhh thought you were fast?

As for the let them bump and run with guys, apparently they have not seen the last four games. Burns and howard get abused on the REGULAR in that setting...lol The issue I see, is the lack of explosion out of breaks, and a lack in aggression at the point of attack. We have had a lot of plays where one of them is there and they just do not make the play... That guy from Arky was throwing lobs that made Jacory look like he had a howitzer and they were being caught.. That is on the player.. I am sure the coaches saw some of those throws and said, he sit back and with our speed attacking the ball in the air we should pick a FEW balls..... but no...

No one is giving DC a hard time and he ******* totally got out of the way so an Arky st guy could make a catch!

I am all for ****ting on the coaches when it is actually their fault...

I believe he's referring to coverage after the catch. You can't pick off every pass, but the DB's missed a lot of 1 on 1 tackles. Artie Burns was scared of tackling the QB in the open field. If that's Sean Taylor back there the QB is done for the year via decapatation. Hate to bring up the past, but I miss #26. They need to play like men and not be scared to put your heart into making a tackle. Effort goes a long way rather than giving up on yourself, which to me makes a man look pathetic.

This. And LG must be really bad because on Hurricanes Hotline he said "...but we mostly play bump man." And apparently we don't run it.

These CBs are just soft and bad at tackling, unfortunately. Howard surprises and disappoints me the most.

Yeah, what was that? I noticed it at the game but it was worse on the TV closeup. Burns freezes when the quarterback catches the ball. There aren't exactly multiple variables here. The quarterback will race to the corner. Go smack him.

Burns has been somewhat if a disappointment since early last season. First glimpses were ultra special. Now he looks like a lanky guy without great awareness or aggressiveness.

We need a ballhawk somewhere. I get sick of tackles after a jump ball completion.

Doesn't seem like the DBs are aware of the ball in the air. Howard in particular has looked really bad at times (FAMU & Ark St.). He literally lets the ball sail over his shoulder pad for a completion without even reacting to the football.

They all need to play up to their talent, none of them are scrubs. Underperforming right now, that's the issue. Hope they turn it around.
