We need to focus on a really well coached defensive line from Pitt that btw has 3 sofla lineman Yes, 3 sofla 3 stars are anchoring one of the best (statistically) run defenses in cfb.

But If UM players keep opting to the nfl we will have 0 chance against Bama and continue to go toe to toe with the basketball powerhouses.

Clemson has the entire acc as a **** practice squad and Miami dudes leaving early for the 1st or 7th round will perpetuate that reality until something changes here mentally or Clemson undergoes massive staff changes.

But even if Clemson falls off, Miami will still need upperclassmen to stay. We’ve been losing to older players with lesser talent in the acc famd in bowl games for 15 years now. And we will continue to lose to Any playoff team if their nfl talent wants to play college one more year.

Etienne would of been a 1st round pick last year. Lawrence if he didn’t suit up at all this year would still be projecnumber one overall. Both are playing better this year cause they are bigger stronger and faster than last year and have been in same system and with the same coaches that they’ve had since they were freshaman.

Just go to our starting lineup and staff 2 years ago and see that lack Of continuity of players, staff, and offensive scheme. Its something that no one talks about.
Not only does Clemson retain their players but they also retain their staff while we have done neither.

The big boys of cfb literally have for all intents and purposes squads with active nfl players on them. No amount of “possible” early round draft picks sophomores and juniors are going to beat 22 year old dudes that could literally be starting on Sunday especially when those players are in the trenches.

For a rebuilding program like Miami, Bama is a good test to show young players where they are at. One game is not the season. I think we will build off the first game. If you were hoping for National Championships you have to wait several more years.

I am afraid next year has 6-6 written all over it. We will have a ton of players leave early, who shouldn't and we will once again be very young next year. And who knows whats going to happen at QB. (6-6 if King goes pro, which he has no reason to stay. His draft grade wont go up or down with a 6th year of college)

Probably so but they also have the best player in the country at QB and RB and they may be the best 2 players OVERALL in the country regardless of position. No one else can say that.

Our offense didn’t do enough to win either. Almost didn’t matter who they had on O. Anyone that can score 20 can beat us with that D

For one thing, both games you mention had completely different offensive staffs. If Lashlee et al are the right people for the job, then we should see steady improvemnet. This shouldn't be a lightning in a bottle situation like LSU last year. It took Schnellenberger 4 years and Butch 5 to get to the top.

I get that, but how can anyone indict the offensive staff for not doing well without ever having recruited a player of their own? You can make the argument about the defense, but they haven't been terrible for years, it's our offense that was the glaring weakness. They'll get time to put their own players into the system.
