Private universities have become ripoffs. Tenured professors who barely work and sit on their asses . Tuition often inflated by government assistance by money losing loan programs. State schools now have honors programs that are every bit as selective as the better private schools. the only difference is the student and their family isnt bankrupt after 4 years. UM is no higher rated than UF but a lot more expensive. Its med and law schools are middle of the pack.
There has been plenty of funds to maintain an excellent football team .Maybe with that ignominious troll Shalala gone things will improve -that is if the new Mexican socialist president lets Blake do his job.

Miami is just a raging dumpster fire on every level at this point. Most poorly run university in the country. Have said this before and will continue to say it. Why ANYONE would pay $40,000+ to come to this glorified for-profit community college is a mystery to me.

Very few of them are actual U graduates or Miami natives... their loyalties if any, are elsewhere.

Don't expect them to do anything unless you force their hand.

In fact, some of academia are ticked off that fans care that much about football... which they think as intellectually demeaning.

I had one of them who couldn't get it why people get worked up over a game... they think that most of America is intellectually dense as demonstrated by their passion around sports .... their academic ivory tower perspective, I guess.

It's FSU week and no one cares in fact some fans are openly rooting for UM to get blown out. That's all you need to know.

I'm not rooting just can't keep watching paint dry.. He knows he's close to be fired.. and we all know UM will make another bad hire.. It is what it is at this point. I don't blame recruits who leave, fans who stop following. It is what it is. I'll be here to the end, but how excited should I be for fsu when I know we don't have the coaching chops to win the game.
