If Clemson is our conference “road test” then the ACC is absolute buns. I had to watch that game a 2nd time to really appreciate how bad they really are.

How many games before Dabo gets to move on to his next career as a megachurch pastor who swindles cash-strapped grannies out of their Social Security checks?

One can only hope. It’ll only get worse until he’s gone. Much like Corch Norvell.
 
They looked like **** against what I believe is a top 5 team on the road at night at one of the toughest places to play in the country week 1. They aren’t great but they have talent and I can only expect they will have a better showing against us at home. I still believe we handle them but it’s just won’t be apples to apples in terms of setting.

I wanna see them play Purdue before I assume that. If it’s a close game, I’m gonna say Miami wins by 3+ touchdowns, at worst.

If they blow Purdue out, I’ll be a little more antsy. But not much. Just don’t think the ACC has a team with a defense that can even slow down our offense, particularly the passing game. Hopefully this will be the (meaningful) game that our rushing attack gets going. I’ll be in the stands talking **** to all the drunk Deacons.
 
I know that Clemson is cheeks right now, but trust me, they will look like a team full of Heisman Finalists when they play us at Death Valley.

How many times have we played cupcakes only to find them turn into Ohio State or Texas when they play us.

Clemson is no cupcake. The game may have passed Dabo by in many respects, but the man can still coach. And Cristobal and Mirabal still have to figure out our OL. Plus Heatherman has to get our defensive backfield figured out by the time we go in there.

I'm just say, do NOT expect a blowout. Dabo would love to knock us off. Clemson was humiliated by Lane, and deliberately so. He'll want to take it out on us, and on Mario. We need to be mentally ready and not have any sense of entitlement going into any game going forward.

I'm rewatching it now.

Also looked like their defense gave up
 
Clemson vs FSU should be fun.

I actually think Clemson could end up 7-5/8-4. FSU is more likely 4-8/5-7.

They didn’t even put up a fight from the beginning. How do you come out flat as a flitter for a game that was hyped all summer long? Vizzina was bad, but his O-line was worse. That’s a legit problem that I’m not sure you can even clean up. They can’t throw downfield because their OL can’t hold up long enough for downfield plays to develop. Our D-line will be in his face all night long.

We won’t be caught sleeping against anyone this year because we know we ain’t sneaking up on anyone this time around.

Clearly they did because they ran out of gas. They were on the field all night. Guys tend to just say “**** it” when they know their offense isn’t gonna do anything with the ball.

ACC seems to be a conference where you annually have one legit top-10 program plus 1-2 surprise teams who finds its way to the conference championship. Last year it was UVA and Duke. I think this year it can be Louisville, UVA or even VT with the rest spoiling the conference.

ACC seems to be a conference where you annually have one legit top-10 program plus 1-2 surprise teams who finds its way to the conference championship. Last year it was UVA and Duke. I think this year it can be Louisville, UVA or even VT with the rest spoiling the conference.

I think it’s Louisville or Pitt playing us in the ACC championship game. Time will tell.

Their line of scrimmage play on both sides of the ball was horrible!!! I think the LSU running backs are still running right now. Dabo is washed. IMO, there has been a steady decline in their program ever since Venables took the OU job. Maybe Dabo wasn't really who we thought he was, and it was actually Venables behind the scenes making the program what it was. IJS
 
I know seasons never work like this, every team has a scare, but if anyone not named Louisville doesn’t get beat by double-digits, someone should be shot.

We are so much better than everyone in this league it’s not even real life.

There’s a very clear timeline that shows the decline began when Venables took the Oklahoma job. Recruiting took a big downturn after that as well. Can’t help but wonder how different Dabo’s record would be without Watson, Sunshine and Venables.
