I don’t know if it was coaches or players but let me tell you what I saw that was so awful.

J. Williams come out of the game nicked up right after the first PI. Blades runs in and the CB tells him the coverage. (Can’t remember the CB and I’m sure the coaches sent in the signs as well) Blades blows the coverage and looks at the CB confused after the TD. The CB frantically shows him the hand signs for what coverage it was supposed to be.

After the TD Blades goes and sits on the bench. He is on every kick off team, has been all year. FSU starts to kick off and Blades is still sitting on the bench never even thinks about getting out there. Then as the ball is kicked he runs onto the field putting on his helmet.

I have always loved Blades and his family but this is what the coaches are working with or this is lack of coaching Monday-Friday.

You don’t think things like this happens to nearly every team multiple times a year? Usually coaches are prepared enough and paying attention to make sure kids get on the field and that there are 11 guys on the coverage and return teams.

Ok but there's the other side.....

Where's the coaches? Why aren't THEY pulling the kids aside after a miscommunication, talking it out and teaching them? Did they? Honest question. I wasn't watching that specific event, although i did see a guy run out late after a quick camera on the special teams guy looking around and screaming for someone.

Coaches should be taking every opportunity in-game to coach these guys, especially the young ones. You do not get enough time/reps/situations in practice to teach everything you want, so use the in-game stuff to do so.

I’m sure buddy feels he got done dirty by the staph and checked out! He was one of the better corners in the nation at some point and the Covid year ***ked him up physically and he fought hard to get back into shape after almost losing his life. He should be at corner still but they move him to safety where he has never really played. Had he stayed at corner he may have been a lockdown corner again. Ivey should have been moved to safety instead. But he pulled a hoodini on yet ANOTHER staph 🤣! Blades sucks at safety no doubt but he was a pretty good corner. As a former player, I see it from the players point of view. You’re asked to do something that you don’t know how to do and you spend time learning it trying to be a team player and it doesn’t work. Your chances of getting drafted are now zero. And it’s mostly the fault of the coaches and a lot of bad luck. They really control the player’s futures. For all the success stories there’s stories like this guys

He was a good cover corner with adequate speed and solid physicality. He was a plus tackler at corner and had draftable traits. Blades' ceiling was probably high 5th round, but he was a guy that was putting together a draft-worthy tape

Do you have a recent cb that was drafted 5th round or lower you would compare him to?
