Interesting question, unlike some doom-and-gloomers, I dont believe that Miami is destined to be an also-ran in the food chain of college football forever. I saw USC for a full decade or so go through a dry spell. Bama before Saban became just another program. Michigan was in danger of going through a decade long-plus dry spell till Captain Pleats(Harbaugh) came back to his alma mater and has made them relevant

Go back to 1997 or really Butch's tenure, go back to that coaching staff and look at all the guys who ended up being head coaches or went onto the NFL. If a coach wasn't cutting it( Bill Miller) he was getting the ax. Tough decisions were made for the good of the program. Seriously, Butch's staffs had some real coaching talent(including lifers like Don Soldinger, who never had any real interest in coaching outside the city of Miami)

Compare that to this current group of coaches we have. First of all, would any major program really hire Richt at this moment if they had the chance? Also, outside of Manny Diaz, which other assistant coach is moving up the ladder or would be wanted by another major program? That to me is telling.

Every good Miami team I can recall, had a good staff of coaches. There is a direct correlation.

Yeah, coaches and coaching matter. Don't let the Branch Richtian Cult of Coral Gables tell you its just on the players to execute. That's the mantra of a bad coach looking for excuses

Get the right coach in here and Miami can be Miami again. But right now, they are on 'Richtbation'

Once again, great post!!! As for me, I’m 48 and I see what’s going on here. I put no blame on the players, period. I was a boxer at a high level, on the US teams and traveled all around the world. And my coach was no nonsense when it came to the fight game.

And everyday was a teaching and learning moment, and I learned a lot from him and he ended up coaching two world champions.

So again, we need to hire a CEO type coach ala Butch to reap the benefits. He needs to over see the product put on the field, because Time is ticking and this boat is sinking! And I see no ONE on this staph getting cherry picked, for other jobs opportunities,... LOL, (besides Manny).. well, Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family and to all in the Canedom! Thanks for your educated post.

Lust, you're a boxer?!?! I cover the sport for a living!! Far out!!

A chain of inept decisions by Mork did him in.... including handing Rosi the starting job, pulling Perry after UVa, on and on
I had a really bad feeling when he named Rosier the starter at the start of fall camp. That took the wind out if the entire program.

No way, interesting! Well... a former boxer 2x National champ in the 80’s... ****, I feel like Al Bundy, LOL! But yes I enjoy the sport still. I workout and still use the craft helping out kids and older folks like myself, lol, just to stay in shape.

Well, it’s a pleasure my Cane brother!

well, I cover boxing(used to be at Maxboxing.com, then UCNLive.com and now ESPN.com

I talk a lot of boxing(and Canes football) on my Twitter handle at @steveESPNKim

Richt's salary is relevant to the extent that with Coker, Shannon and Golden we basically got what we paid for. For $4 mil a year, we are getting seriously ripped off.

this is a great point, this might be the worst deal in sports this side of Jon Gruden(and in his defense he's trying to tank in what is his first season)

Imma have to follow you, I love boxing. Well, I'm a "Philly boul", so it's natural. Bernard Hopkins is a friend of my mom's.

The funny thing is, I believe Richt would be a great head coach if he hired a dynamic offensive coordinator and left him alone to do his job. Richt can recruit. His history proves that he can bring in talent. However, I do not think he can preform all of these jobs, especially since he is trying to re-learn offense after so many years.

I think he is a lot more stubborn than we may have anticipated. He is not going to do anything. He is going to point to the guy at Georgia that he said he booted off the team and then the guy called him years later thanking him. Guaranteed Richt will pull that story out again.

Sorry for the late response, but I’m interested and will look into twitter and check it out. One thing for sure.... you rep the Canes to the fullest, and I appreciate that. Good night brother.

Ask away.
Ok!!! So my first question is a culinary one. I know you and Kenneth love meat, and even smoke meat often. So my question is about steak!

How do you identify a good tube steak from an average or poor tube steak? I Know u can tell a lot about a tube steak by rubbing or massaging it... but what exactly am I looking for?

Should it feel soft and rubbery or hard? Is there a proper way to massage the tube steak?

Can u tell a good tube steak from the color? I’ve heard dark tube steaks are better... is this true?

Is there an ideal length for a tube steak? Or an ideal girth?

Finally, how do I prepare my tube steak? Should it be smoked? If so, how long shouid i smoke the tube steak? Can I tell if a tube steak is ready by just putting it in my mouth and tasting it?

Anywhoozles.... I’m really a big fan of tube steak, and I know u and Kenneth are experts. any help would be much appreciated.

Sorry, but if you’re attending games and buying apparel right now you’re part of the problem. Do us real fans a favor and find a new team to cheer for.
Can you please detail what real fans do when the team is winning and when they are losing? I'm not familiar with the protocol. I'd hate to be accused of not being a real fan if I support the team during the wrong times. Thanks in advance.
