Here's a few other options that might be out there that people should consider. (Pending it's a no go on Butch)


Matt Campbell - Toledo's HC - Guy is pretty good he's young. He beat Arkansas and is winning consistently. He's an interesting guy, but I'm unsure if it's just because he's in the MAC, Pretty reluctant against bringing in another MAC guy...F U ...Golden...you are even ruining the opinions of others that have nothing to do with your fat ***.

Mike Leach - Just beat Oregon at home. Kinda struggled at Wazzu, but then again Wazzu is total crap and he took them to a bowl game in just his second year, and this year looks to actually be putting together a competitive team. He's known for offense, but we always need a defense. If he were to bring Leavitt from Colorado I would be down with Leach/Leavitt for us. Both know how to win with handicapped facilities. We've got the top talent. I'd let them tear it up.

Chip Kelly - Not going to happen honestly. We can't afford him. He's too much money, and honestly we are too cluster f*ck of an admin for him to do it. This isn't Phil Knight land down here in south beach. This is...you don't get a stadium...we might pay for food...We'll be keeping that Adidas money for Shalala lipo. I see him going to Maryland where the other Phil Knight / Under Armor guy is running the show/payroll.

DCs? Geoff Collins (Florida) / Pruitt (Georgia) - Both are solid coaches that have won everywhere they have been. Collins was at UCF/FIU when they were actually good. I honestly think he was way more of the reason FIU was good than Cristobal. He would be an interesting hire, but also kind of a gamble as he doesn't have HC experience. Pruitt same deal. Good assistant...would he be a good HC? who the **** knows.

Just some names to think about if we can't get Butch. I don't know why we wouldn't be able to...other than the administration would be afraid the NCAA would be lurking around..I will say this. If we do hire Butch and he doesn't work out we had better be prepared for that. It could get incredibly ugly when the hero we built up in our heads and the real life man don't turn out to be the same person...15 years later.

Chip kelly would be an amazing choice. But you are perpetuating the myth that Miami is poor. Another ban worthy offense.

There have to be some real options besides Butch. There are those who believe that Butch is not being considered. If it were up to me, I would strongly consider Butch strongly and he would be very high on my short list. But it is up to the BOT and major boosters. Blake needs to start looking at real options. On December 1, he needs to to have 3 candidates at least. The hiring must be done quickly and swiftly.
 
Mike Leach beat Oregon? Good stuff. Put Leavitt and maybe Mangino on his staff and you've got something. Get it done.

Al Golden is paid $2,539,315 SOURCE

Chip Kelly made 3.5 Million at Oregon.... and he left... he isn't coming to Coral Gables to return to College Football for 1 million less to fix Golden's dumpster fire down here. He'll go to USC or some school that will spend a ridiculous amount of money to get him, but he sure isn't coming here.

Leach isn't a fraud. You don't beat Oregon at home if you are a fraud. They've only lost 5 times at home since 2008. 1 of them is Leach with some crappy kids from nowhere Washington.
 
Durkin>Pruitt>Collins (I like his defenses but seems to be a bit like MUSCHAMP in demeanor)

Personally wouldn't roll the dice on any of them until we struck out on some more proven guys.

We missed out on schiano years ago.. Writing was on the wall when he stayed at rutgers instead of coming here...

Chip Kelly would be an amazing hire, but might as well say Bill Belichek, neither is going to happen. Herman is intriguing, but I would prefer a guy with a little more experience as a HC.
 
Not sure why they're not letting ICE finish ut the season as HC, since there is no forward movement with Gluten and Dorito.
 
How about Chuck Pagano? It has been reported that the team GM and he are not getting along well. Chuck used to be an assistant at the U for 14 years.
