Committed to Ohio State since the end of December, Jacobs is keeping a couple schools warm, mostly Miami. The Hurricanes look like the biggest threat to the Buckeyes but at this point for the Roswell (Ga.) Blessed Trinity Catholic standout.

Jacobs will be back the weekend of June 12 in Columbus. His father said they were supposed to be at Miami this past weekend but were unable to make it.

We’ve seen OSU hold off Miami before but...

This cycle, it seems like teams are having their key recruits visit the first two weekends (either to flip them or solidify their commitment).

Sure seems odd to me that Jacobs is waiting until the 12th to visit O$U.

All depends on scheduling. Plenty of teams are backloading their last weekend of possible OVs. Ohio state has sixteen scheduled for the last two weekends and thirteen for the first two (5 then 8).

Half the players visiting Ohio state this weekend are from South Florida and 3 of them are from St Thomas; number goes to 5 when considering IMG WR McFarland plays on SFE with Jaden Carey
 
IU and LSU had a bunch of prospects visit the two weekends in April to try to get a competitive advantage….doesn’t look like it paid off at all tbh
 
Possible that it’s Jacob’s? Wasn’t he supposed to come last weekend. Maybe he’s coming this weekend??

Wright isn't coming this weekend. He's reported to be coming the weekend after next.

  • We still don't know who Donte' "Tae" Wright is planning on recruiting on his unofficial visit.
  • Kaden Henderson has cancelled his O$U visit for this weekend
  • Kaden Henderson hasn't (yet) posted any TAMU visit pics on his timeline (which is currently full of UM visit pics and conversations)
  • D$ says Henderson will likely make a decision before Jacobs.

He confirmed his Ohio State official visit this upcoming weekend is canceled. Notre Dame for June 19-21 is still scheduled. Tentative commitment date of July 1 is still in place"

I just want to make sure I understand what is being written.

Are we flying a committed recruit 5 hours from Cali for the weekend specifically to help us recruit? If so, UM has truly crossed over into the next phase of college football recruiting. What is next committed recruits doing in-home visits of prospects? This is wild stuff. And if it works expect to see more and more of this.

We aren't flying anyone across the country. He's doing this on his own dime and with his own time.

Agreed, and its even more advanced because they're doing this unofficially.

Last week, Ezekiel "ETA" Ayangbile and Jaiden "Boog" Byrant flew to the Gables unofficially and helped recruit for Legends day.

Never thought about this aspect. But I suspect if its truly unofficial, there's no quiet period for recruits contacting each other or potentially even visiting each other.
