Since it's a fade it's more of a timing his jump then throwing the ball higher, fade passes as rule would have an arc on the trajectory.

No idea why he doesn't jump high and snatch the ball out of the air, but two 4th down TD catches erases all of that.

Only time he has truly high pointed the ball correctly was against ND on 4th down and it was shocking bc no one expected it. So he has it in him he just doesn't show that ability every time.

BTW you can't high point a ball that's thrown at your chest. High pointing it in that situation would mean the ball hits him in the nuts.

It's called physics.

I agree with OP in that those throws need to be higher and with more arch. Its on of the few balls that Rosier threw well. Perry needs to work on that a bit.

Ball hits you in the hands, you gotta catch it.

Cager isnt a hand catcher. Higher passes probably wouldn't matter. If he wins the body position battle he usually makes the catch if not its a drop.
agree.....don't think the problem is they aren't high enough, he just lets them come to his chest anyway........

The fade is a very tough play to convert, needs to be a great pass and the timing of the receivers jump needs to be perfect. That play Cager made is much easier said then done. I don’t know why he gets criticized on the board. Yes he dropped a few passes but other than Jeff Thomas he is making the most plays out of any of the other receivers on the team.

My the QB's are throwing the balls lower because they know LC18 does not high point/extend his arms to catch them where they should be. So maybe they place where they know HE can make a play on it. I can't say for sure, but my fear is one will get picked eventually.

What Cager lacks in hands, he makes up for by knowing how to use his body to shield away defenders. But he certainly isn’t Mossing anyone.

Once again tho, the coaches should know this and not use Cager for the fades. I suppose it’s a step in the right direction that we aren’t still using Harley, but what about Njoku, hightower, mallory? Mallory already showed he can make that play.

And the real question is why are we running fade on 4th down? It’s such a low percentage play, esp against a team that traditionally has solid athletes all over their secondary. Fade is a play you run on 1st or 2nd down, if at all.

When did some one other then Mallory catch a fade in the endzone from #12, and that was short and low.

He's making more plays bc he's getting more targets than others...its simple, he's 6"5 and Samuels is 5'10, if he desires making the jump to an nfl roster he needs to be able to win those battles on the fade
