2027 Julius Jones Jr 4* WR from STA

Central had a transfer from Jackson I wanna say that was a complete nobody until he had 3 catches for like 100 yards against IMG. He ended up signing with Louisville. **** gets weird like that sometimes lol
I was curious about how this kid is doing now. Cataurus Hicks. Second lowest ranked recruit in UL’s class. He ended his 2024 season with 6 catches for 63 yards against Pittsburgh then smartly transferred there for more playing time. Kid went off against UL lol but Pitt still got the L.

Obviously not a future pro but has two more years of eligibility left. We might see little buddy again 😂
I mean... those 3 catches basically got STA back into the game... but he was getting his a$s kicked by Gourdine in the first half.
Gourdine has picked up a ton of offers this year and is projected to go to Miami so that’s good to know.

I have only seen him a few times and he looks good, but when Macho makes those short, to the point, jag posts like he did a month or so ago on him, I don't question it anymore. His hit rate on those are to high.
I mean...I could be wrong.
Most WR's look like JAGs with Gourdine on them, so maybe that's swaying my judgement.

He's a GREAT player, I just don't see any one redeeming quality that makes him a "must get".

Man is a burner. I love to see these football players running track. Especially if you in the speed state.

Bloodlines don't lie. His dad and uncle Thomas Jones were studs
Played against them both in HS...small Single-A, Region D (Div 2) Virginia HS ball. Lonesome Pine District with the likes of Coeburn (my alma mater), Appalachia, John I Burton (Norton), Powell Valley (Big Stone Gap, where Thomas/Julius played), Clintwood, Pound, JJ Kelly (Wise). Appalachia/Powell Valley were neighboring towns, and both powerhouses in small school Southwest VA HSFB. They were both annual threats to win state.

Thomas was the better all-around RB. Better vision, blocking, tough to bring down. Top end speed was above average, but not elite. He is still the career rushing king at UVA with 3,998 yards, ahead of Tiki Barber and Terry Kirby.

Julius, on the other hand - top end elite speed. No surprise that Julius Jr. has gotten some of those genetics. Julius has 3 of the top 10 single game rushing yards in a game records at ND. He's tied with Autry Denson for the 6th highest rushing yards in a season. He's the only ND RB all time to have 3 games of 200+ yards in his career. He's 6th all time in career rushing yards. He's 3rd on their all-time KR/PR combined yardage list all time...ahead of Tim Brown and Rocket Ismail. (I took all of this off of ND's records listed in their 2025 football program I found a PDF for: Link Here)

Thomas definitely had a better NFL career, but Julius was **** good as well. Not too bad for two dudes from lil ole Big Stone Gap, VA.

And don't get me started on their uncle Edd Clark, who went to Purdue but flunked out, before eventually dying saving 2 kids from drowing in '86. He was a beast. Good story/background on their family and history here.
