I just moved this from the Recruiting board to the Portal board.
He good?Looks like Bell is going pro. This kid isn’t coming to sit the bench
Unless Mirabal & Mario can perform miracles (which you can't rule out), the SC Canes on this board feel that he had a bad year due to poor OL coaching and is going to need some time to clean up the mess and get him right. I wouldn't pencil him in immediately as a starter.Looks like Bell is going pro. This kid isn’t coming to sit the bench
He started two years in the SEC, so he’s certainly got some experience. Dmoney mentioned on the pod other day that he has a lot on untapped potential and that he likely isn’t coming here to sit. I trust Mirabls evaluationsHe good?
Dmoney and Pete said the the other day that this was likely Bells replacement and he likely isn’t coming here to sit the bench. Idk enough about this kid. However, I’m confident Mirabel can turn this kid into something special. What we saw them do to Bell is what I have raised before and gotten **** for - his shortcomings in the past dealing with speed rushers.Samson, Cantwell, McCoy will have their chances If bell leaves. While Bell has played good, 1&4 for Ole Miss put film on Bells weakness.
Gotta ignore the guys that aren’t willing to remove the Orange and Green when analyzing our team. What we saw them do to Bell is what I have raised before and gotten **** for - his shortcomings in the past dealing with speed rushers.

He’s like 6’9”. Can he play guard at that height?Gotta ignore the guys that aren’t willing to remove the Orange and Green when analyzing our team.
Bell is a good OT. He would get beat weekly in the NFL by speed rushers. I’m not even sure he would play LT due to that. If he is willing to get paid less but for longer, he should go. If he wants to attempt to become a starting LT which is one of the highest paid positions, he should stay and work another year. Just my 2cents. I haven’t been on an NFL sideline since the 90s so I could be wrong.
I know Francis was more "ready" but I would imagine Cantwell will get significant playing time in year 1 - especially since we don't open with a huge matchup and he can get serious reps in before big time competitionWe don’t necessarily have a RT at this point. If Bell starys this guy clips play there..
Not likely but RT is an option. He’s like 6’9”. Can he play guard at that height?
My concern with Cantwell is lower body strength. He looks like a prototype LT, athletic, narrow lower body, strong punch, likely can open hips fast as a shot putter. He just needs 20-30lbs of muscle in the lower body to be a strong run blocker vs the big boys. He likely does ok in the ACC with mostly smaller 240-250lb DEs.I know Francis was more "ready" but I would imagine Cantwell will get significant playing time in year 1 - especially since we don't open with a huge matchup and he can get serious reps in before big time competition
Bell LT
Samson LG
This dude RT?
I was surprised how big Congdon looked in that pic next to Cantwell.and if he can’t cut it, McCoy/Samsung/Cantwell. Bell and Moten insure success along the lines for 2026. It gives us 6 kids for 4 spots without discussing SJ, Max, and Kinsler.
Bell, Samson, McCoy, Cantwell, Kinsler, SJ, Max, Thompson. Just need Lew or another good center. Don’t doubt Mario and Mirabal have eyes on some.
