Josh Pate: The Truth About Mario Cristobal

Saw this yesterday and followed his Miami takes since Mario got hired, he's right about people were hoping it wouldn't work. Now that very thing they were worried about is happening and its that simple. Everyone knew when he got hired it was pretty much over in terms of recruiting.
people underestimate his eye for talent and his ability to develop players. They forget he started out under Butch Davis and Greg Schiano, then went to Saban. He gets it at the highest level.

Yup, have to get the guys up front then everything becomes easier as time goes by. Eventually the skill guys see proof of concept and go to that place to showcase their talent. It’s why the Coopers and Judy’s went to bama. Why would you go to UM at that time knowing your QB would be on his back and you won’t be able to even see the ball.

on our sht now lol...did he pick us to win once in the playoff?

I dont mind him but hes quickly becoming that dude who nudges you after the fact, going 'look, see, told you'....
picked UM to win the national title game... picked the team to lose every game before that

Mario has a chance to do something we as fans have all wondered: what would Miami look like if Howard, Jimmy or Butch had stayed for the long haul? MC is building a monster in Coral Gables.

He said nothing bad. Basically said Mario could, never said he wouldn’t, now he’s been talking Lincoln Riley up lately. Then throws caveats in case it blows up in face.

I’m no football savant, but he was all in on Lagway last season. And I could see that wasn’t gonna work. When he’s gotten put his nuts on the line he’s usually wrong.
