Josh Calvin 2019 3* QB is A Prospect Miami should Evaluate

Goes to Mayfair. Decent competition, but not the greatest. Noticed when he played elite competition, team got blown out and he struggled mightily. He’s 0-2 against them this far this year. May be a reason why he’s a 3 star and he’s committed to Utah St and not many big offers.

The **** aren’t they going after that one dude from Louisiana who decommitted from Kansas a little bit ago? Or that Baldwin dude from IMG?
 
He looks good (obviously a highlight film) the only thing I dont like is he stares at the same guy the whole time, u cant do that in college against good teams. Im no qb guru but this sucks man

Candle has been at Toledo for several years. Came from Mount Union with Campbell. And he was the OC/QB coach and Asst. HC at Toledo for the years before he became HC. So, yeah, he’s had something big to do with who they’ve recruited and signed at QB.

I'd take him over not taking anyone at all. He looks like he has nice talent.

Unfortunately, Richt is plotting. Richt is plotting to have us stuck with his nephew at QB who probably sucks for 2 years.

Richt is running Miami like a family business that's a 2 star restaurant.

I'm just trying to understand why we aren't recruiting a QB. Shannon was lazy with his QB recruiting IMO after we got Harris.

It feels worse because in today's day and age with more lenient transfer rules. Things could honestly turn out that way. Richt doesn't trust Perry ability to mature, Weldon on his last strike, and Williams, if he is the future, will be a junior by 2020 giving Max a year to red-shirt because Richt seems to red-shirt all of his QBs.

Not to mention, Max is a 4 star QB so no one will question if Richt is being bias say if he was a 2 star QB. It's not that far fetch.

Calvin is a legit 6'3" 200lbs under the radar fast rising southern California QB who throws a very accurate catchable ball and has a high Football IQ. His high school runs a pro style offense and he only threw 4 INTs last year. Calvin, threw for 1,981 yards and 21 scores last year as a junior.

As of the Oct 8th, 2018 this year Calvin has thrown for 1,300+ yards passing, 16 TDs, with two picks after 6 games.

Jon Richt and Coach Brown should at least reach out to kick the tires on Calvin's recruitment. His HS coach considers Calvin a field general and the ultimate team guy. This is just the type of 2019 QB recuit Miami needs now to add quality QB depth along with all the skilled athletes we have available.
