This is the same site that was celebrating Travis crawling on the ground in pain against Miami, so spare me the righteous indignation.

Original is right though. I shouldn't have made those assumptions. I guess I am a prick for not really caring. So be it.

I do.

But I also want him to have a long and ineffective career, so it proves to the kids that Norvell is a terrible coach. Now, we are stuck with the myth of what Jordan Travis "could have been"...kidding...a little...

But seriously, I'd never begrudge a kid his chance to make money playing the sport he loves. That's all. I wasn't gonna root for him, though.

It's all good, man. Just gotta have perspective.

I'm happy with Miami beating the **** out of F$U, both physically and on the scoreboard. But now that Travis is no longer playing against Miami, he is free to live his life.

Now, I will say I never cared for the guy as a player. I thought he was disrespectful and disingenuous once he became a successful college qb. I know he had a chip on his shoulder and he proved a lot of doubters wrong, including me, but he was very disrespectful to some of his opponents and also in some interviews. Just came across as bitter and spiteful. Cam Ward overcame the same issues and doubters, but he was much more gracious and respectful about his journey. Always giving credit to teammates and coaches. Very confident, maybe even ****y at times, but also humble and appreciative. Cam wasn’t hateful towards those they may have doubted him or initially didn’t give him a shot. Jordan Travis’ attitude was the opposite of that.

This. Norvell should be sending him monthly paychecks. Anyone who knows Norvell’s record without Jordan Travis starting knows how much that kid was responsible for FSU’s brief success.

He was a 5th round pick. He didn't make THAT MUCH money "doing rehab".

As for permanently handicapped, you have no idea. I know several former Miami players that I went to school with who have serious problems. Being "permanently handicapped" is not a binary condition where you are either in a wheelchair or else you are fine. There are a lot of levels to the permanent physical limitations that retired players have to deal with.

As for the "mental trauma", again, you have no idea. Some of the CTE stuff does not present immediately, nobody knows for certain whether Jordan Travis will have to deal with issues such as these.

I was never a fan, and I hate the SemenHoles, but I can have compassion for any player whose career is cut short by injury and/or botched recovery.

Yeah having your dream taking away isn’t funny. For what it’s worth, his NFL contract was valued at 3.8 million. IDK the league rules about injuries and retirement, I’m sure a settlement will occur and Travis will still be a millionaire. Wouldn’t be surprise if he’s back with Norvell as a grad assistant

I guess you could say the same thing about Mario and Cam. Without Cam last year, what are we: 7-6? 8-5?
 
While it is terrible that Travis' career ended the way it did and the Jets are the Keystone Cops of the NFL, let's stop pretending that had Travis been healthy, he would have been the next big thing. His stats and film indicate otherwise. Travis was a good college QB that benefited GREATLY from the COVID year. He needed that extra development, because he was awful for a good chunk of his career. He was a grown man playing college football, and it showed. He was the perfect QB for FSU two years ago, and he should have finished higher in the Heisman race.

King was no slouch, manny was here 7 years he could’ve put together a better roster besides 3 portal transfers and team full of sunbelt players.

My hate can never go to the point where personal careers are ruined or severely negatively affected due to injury or personal circumstances just because of the team I hate.

Now, if you're an *******, like Brian Kelly, that's different. But Travis never seemed like a hateable dude. The Jets are a hateable bunch though, that's nothing new.

Overall, I never felt Travis had the makings of a NFL QB. He was never the pure dropback thrower that you need to be and ultimately, his career was cut short doing what he did best, which is being a runner.

But to this day and probably beyond, I cannot understand how billion dollar-organizations in athletics are incapable of having adequate surroundings for professional athletes to heal and rehab. Remember the Browns, when seemingly every player with a knee injury started having staph infections? How does that happen?
 
This is what happens when the owner of the franchsie wears a huge chain that says "Woody" and has no real world knowledge and allows his sons to choose players based on Madden ratings
