I wasn’t necessarily rooting for him to be a successful NFL player, but I did want him to have the chance at playing again. I never want to see a players career abruptly end due to an injury.
Now, I will say I never cared for the guy as a player. I thought he was disrespectful and disingenuous once he became a successful college qb. I know he had a chip on his shoulder and he proved a lot of doubters wrong, including me, but he was very disrespectful to some of his opponents and also in some interviews. Just came across as bitter and spiteful. Cam Ward overcame the same issues and doubters, but he was much more gracious and respectful about his journey. Always giving credit to teammates and coaches. Very confident, maybe even ****y at times, but also humble and appreciative. Cam wasn’t hateful towards those they may have doubted him or initially didn’t give him a shot. Jordan Travis’ attitude was the opposite of that.
