Pancake or McCoy can be at least a 3rd team all ACC player for us it’s not the end of the world

Would just be nice for the overall talent of the starting 5
 
I like Samson at OG, has thrived there and I think he can take another step and get drafted. I’ve made it known that I’m not crazy about McCoy, but I can’t be a hypocrite and say I trust them to put Rivers & Bell out there and develop them but not do the same for him even if I don’t like what I’ve seen.

At the end of the day, I trust them ultimately to put a good group out there and I’m glad we have some lightweights to start the season because this group will need it. They will naturally get better the more that they play together.

Oh and yeah we need Seaton.

Although McCoy is known to be athletic, with a tight end background, sometimes athleticism, size, and power just don’t add up to work on an island. This year, he has gotten better and better in a phone booth at guard. For being an athlete, he fails to shoot his hands regularly, he allows defenders to get into his body, and it doesn’t show up as much inside because he’s strong enough and athletic enough to move his feet and not give much ground. In his time against speed, I have seen time and time again. It gets the better of him. For one reason or another, his lack of hand fighting allows for defenders to move around him if they are bringing speed.

You don’t believe that Cristobal and Mirabal can get him ready to play LT in 8-months?
 
Is Cantwell good enough to come in and start? Sure he likely could, but how ready is he?

To play it, yes. They certainly can get them there. But it won’t be effective as Bell. You are replacing a lot. The cohesiveness of Samson and McCoy inside allows for your new tackles to have reliable help and leadership. By moving McCoy you are asking a TON of these dudes to pick it up. You pay for Seaton and you don’t have to worry about it. You need to worry about helping Cantwell. You don’t pay him and move McCoy to OT, you have to help 4 out of 5.

We're a playoff contender with or without Seaton, imo (assuming Mensah clears his legal hurdles and is our QB).

But I'm not sure we're a championship contender without him.

A starting lineup of [Seaton - McCoy - Rodriguez - Pancake - Cantwell] has enough experience, reps, and talent to win it all.

Take Seaton out of the mix and I'm not so sure. We'd be left with [McCoy - inexperienced guard (Buchanan / Minaya / someone) - Rodriguez - Pancake - Cantwell]. And the depth behind these guys would be scary.

If it’s close in money you would think the uncle would go to a ol coach who’s about to put a top 10 pick in the nfl this year . Regardless I believe our ol will be good with or without him . Just if the uncle is tryinG To make as much money as possible being a top 10 pick is Better than late first round because he didn’t get better at Oregon or lsu
