From what I was told, Scarlett had a decent time on his UF visit, but people close to him don't feel like it was enough to make him flip. I was also informed that following his visit to FSU this weekend, Scarlett plans on returning to Miami for an unofficial visit before signing day. That last visit means a lot more than people think because it gives Miami the last chance to see him before he signs any letter of intent.

wouldn't that be during the dead period?

He will be our starter before the season is over and a major contributor from the first game.

In my opinion, we just need him around Beard as much as possible. That's probably the biggest reason we have him. No coincidence that him and Bruce committed shortly after Beard was hired. We know Beard can't contact him or visit him, but if Jordan is on campus then he can absolutely talk to him.

It goes back to what Pete reported about the local high school coaches saying something along the lines of "Miami needs to do a better job identifying, and building relationships with, the people in recruits' lives who they look up to and go to for advice". I think Beard is one of those people for Jordan.

why do we tell so much info on our recruits!

Kevin I am not so sure that he starts from game one. It definitely could happen - Walton and Yearby will also be in the mix.

Getting another visit post-FSU is certainly a positive. Still think FSU is in the driver's seat.

Scarlett is a two in one. We land Scarlett. Bruce will be solidified. Both are dead set on playing together at the next level.

IMO. Yes, Scarlett will be a Cane. That visit back to Miami after the FSU visit this weekend says a lot IMO.

I really want to see what FSU is going to try selling to him. Yes they have been competing and doing very well and are a year removed from a championship. But their will be transition, a new qb as well as Dalvin seems to be set to be the featured back for the next 2 years and Patrick is already on campus.

UF's pitch IMO was very weak to go along with an extremely weak class. They were basically banking on the kid to save them.

I've always said if Scarlett is smart and wants to get to the league. Miami or FSU will be that path.

Scarlett and bruce committed to miami before Beard came on board. Beard came in early August and Scarlett + bruce committed in July

I figure Joe gets the start. All three will get carries. They give us get chance for fresh legs at end of game. Gotta remember Joe was coming off broken leg last year; we have not seen the best of him. Scarlet made a big deal earlier about not want the thread run off his tires -- like sec backs. Kid in smart and planning his NFL future already. All three will follow Duke, Mike and Lamar into NFL for another string of RBs from THE U. Al's replacement will be in nice position for Kaaya's and Joe's third years.

Bro he looks different I've seen him... The guy is an instant impact player he might not "start" but he will get more carries than all our rb's!

What was UF's pitch?

My bad. I thought I read on here that we got them because they knew Beard would be working here soon after.

IMO Joe gets the start beginning of the year. But Scarlett will very well be in the thick of the carries. Could see him as the starter later on down the season. Which is no knock on Joe at all. Scarlett is a workhorse type of back, you CAN feed the kid 25-30 times and let him pound the defense away.

Walton will be in the mix.

I see Gus getting a good amount of carries early on. Sorry for anyone who likes Gus. I think he is solid but I see Scarlett, Yearby and Walton over him by years end next season.

Amen to that. Plus given Miami's continue superior record at landing RBs in NFL, f$u comes in second in that also. Scarlett might get snowed by Jimbo, but kid seems real smart and he will get plenty of NFL attention because of Kaaya and low mileage on tires because of RB rotation.
