Like I said in another thread, when true freshman TEs are throwing their hands in disgust, it’s not just that one game as some fans keep saying; it’s been like this in practice too. These are not overreactions...this crap has been witnessed and experienced by these guys all throughout camps and practices.

What I liked seeing yesterday was the QBs smiling, having fun - if you played the game you know there's team dynamics and they are on a fine line. They are often very different than what the fans think they are. You have too many "me" guys, it effects the team. Championship programs are usually very cohesive groups that support one another. But calling someone out when you're not performing any better, is fraudulent at best.

These coaches are outsmarting themselves. You can have talented underclassmen play, gain experience for future years, and learn on the job. Or, you can try to teach old dogs new tricks and have them make similar mistakes. I can't imagine what it's like to be a coach at a major football program, but geez these coaches leave you scratching your head a lot of the time

They all are young players, some mature faster some are going to make mistakes, but at the end of the day we know coqch richt has their best interest at heart and will play who deserves to play, had kosi not been suspended, he would've played against lsu, and since he had earned the right to be the first man off the bench, richt kept his word and didnt put in anybody else, smart move cause that'll send the message to kosi he let his team down. And now he knows he's only a series or 2 from being in any game that rosier is struggling in, stay tuned, tne future is bright.

The problem with this, is that how Richt is doing it, he is handcuffing himself(and the team) to the worst Qb on our team. It started last year. Even though it was clear that Malik/Evan wasn't very good, he refused to give any of the young guys meaningful snaps. Then this offseason, he refused to have a real Qb competition. In a real competition, Perry might have still won, even though Richt didn't prepare him for it, the previous year. If Perry had won, you could still suspend him for game one(and prepare the backup for LSU the last 2 weeks of camp) and that would send a much louder message that academics DO matter at UM. But then for the rest of the season, your REAL Qb is prepared and ready to Go.

Now he is making the same mistake with Jarren. Jarren is likely the future, but can't get meaningful snaps because is 4th behind Rosier and Weldon. He is probably better than both right now. And if you gave him meaningful snaps this year, he will probably beat out Perry Next year. But because Richt refuses to prepare his best option for next year, this year, We might get stuck with NOT the best Qb starting against UF, next year......AGAIN!!!!

Thank you for addressing this. He maybe old school, but he not ole skool Cane cause nobody was let off the hook during the 80's and 90's and beside, as bad as rosier can be, he still is not worse than the all time worst qb i've seen in UM history and that's frank costa, the rest barely were messing up and they got checked or was scared to mess up. In fact dre use to get on dorsey alot for throwing balls in the dirt or under throwing em.

I like rosier, nice young man, and he had a real good season last year, but i bet if he knew their was a strong posibility that he was gone get his *** kicked for that garbage game he had against lsu, i bet he would've played better.

Frank Costa, worst QB in UM history? No way. He was a hair away from playing for the title his last season. Tough SOB too. He was only perceived as bad back then because he came after Kelly, Kosar, Walsh, Erickson and 2 Heisman winners.

I wouldn't even have him in the bottom 5.

But again, as a headcoach, you try to instill "we win as a team and we lose as one" the reason it wasnt no "real qb competition" is because perry and cade kind didnt handle their business early on, so they made it easy for coach richt to make that decision. Coach richt is ole skool like that, that's why you might've kept hearing him say early ound spring that perry and cade need to do a better job of knowing what it means to be a starting qb at a University, he said they are doing better. He's not going to stick an immature in his mind guy behind center.

He'll bring them along when they prove to the team they are serious about leading them according to his standards, and with a young team, it makes sense. So behind the scenes the pressure and ball was put into perry's lap, by being suspended he let his teammates down otherwise he would've been put against lsu, but you gotta respect the principle.

While 99.99 percent of headcoaches mainly try and apply the rules of the team evenly, you probably only heard one headcoach say otherwise and that was none other than jimmy johnson, who particularly said "i treat my star players different" he the realest i seen with that, if star player messes up, jimmy was always more lienent with them but when they got on that field they played like they owed em something, and the rest of the players new this to be True so they played harder to try and get into that upper echelon of players in jommy's so they could be buck wild too.

He was the qb for the title game against nebraska, and did like he always did and stunk it up. You put rosier on that team and we have a better chance of beating nebraska, sapp and many others on that defense wanted to kill costa, and a couple of offensive players too. Ill take rosier over costa any day of the week and twice on Sunday's cause costa hasnt thrown one good pass i can remember, at least with rosier he has thrown and made some of the most beautiful passes. That touchdown he threw to berrios against duke, the two to berrios vs Fsu, the pass to langham vs Fsu, the pass yesterday to jeff thomas in stride for that long touchdown, the touchdown to berrios against notre shame, the first completion to cager against lsu, now, recall any memorable passes by costa without going back and watching him not play. I can think of one costa threw though off the dome, sapp and company had just forced a turnover, and lo & behold, on the very next play, costa gave it right back, sapp damyum near broke his helmet!

Something I noticed was when kosi threw one of his TD’s it was Nesta all in his face on the sidelines. Thought it was interesting that you saw more energy for him balling out compared to rosier. The team knows where the future is...

One's a true freshman who's played against Cincinnati and Oklahoma. The other's a 5th year Senior that looked abysmal against LSU and played Savannah State which is about to be a division 2 school.
 
The key is as atrainCane said rosier cant throw on the run, he basically has to come to a complete stop to throw it, where as perry can get the ball out in different ways and has already proven to be more accurate. He showed in his first live game action, he understands ball placement,(that slant throw for a touchdown to cager was great coverage, but he put that ball right in his chest, same with the langham deep ball) is more accurate than rosier, can throw on the run, and can anticipate throws (see the pass to cager on that diving out route)right now he maybe a lil more turn-over prone cause he's not scanning the whole field yet, but if he ever develops better in using his eyes to manipulate the defense, he's going to be a problem. On things for sure, i wouldnt care if he averaged 2 picks a game, he'd still put up more points than rosier would.

He's a gunslinger, and the players have faith in em, also, he'll start making coach richt look like a real play-caller again, rosier at 6'1 cant see the whole field and if you're a 6'1 qb, you're going to have to be accurate, perry is 6'4, so his line of vision is much better, which is why he was able to hit brian jordan over the middle on 2 passes. With perry, we'll probably see less batted balls. Also those young o-linemen are going to be a problem, this offense is going to be a nightmare for defenses once this o-line situation gets straightened out and the next qb takes over.
