Jordan Lyle - what's the story?

The main issue seems that his running style doesn’t fit our blocking scheme. But doesn’t explain how he was RB1 coming out of camp.

How did it fit the run scheme last year though? Seemed like he played alot as a freshman

But in all seriousness, all of you guys like things to be way too much black-and-white

We weren’t running a great skiing when he was getting rest, but he was also hurt and then I think a bunch of things than morphed into a different story and likely leading to him leaving but it’s not as much as he sucks or is great. It’s not that clear cut

We have the dumbest Run Gameplan in the world with the entire mentality being @DMoney ’s “just don’t lose yards”. Our entire run scheme is based on not allowing our guys to gain more than 10 yards. And it seems Lyle didn’t have very good vision.

Could Lyle be good? I thought so. We will see when he portals out and see if he produces elsewhere. But it won’t be here….

vision is downright awful. im sure he'll do better elsewhere and if so good for him. honestly one of those times its better to move on for both sides

Just because a kid doesn’t fit the scheme, doesn’t mean they suck.

Y’all said Martinez sucked last year until he got comfortable and adjusted in a offense he wasn’t use too.

He just isn’t a fit.. at least currently
The jump to say someone sucks that we've seen flash is surprising. Could be he gets healthy and he and Pringle is exactly what we want in a duo

Is Lyle going to become your new Mark Walton?
Career Stats vs P4 Teams:

Lyle
- 4.4 ypc - 66 carries
Walton - 3.8 ypc - 283 carries

Imagine Lyle this year....if he played just as bad....but got 16 carries a game

Lyle & Walton is a great comparison

But what Walton was able to accomplish at Miami....we're never going to see that again.

Another kid crowned prematurely by the fans cause he flashed.
The crazy thing to me is he barely flashed. Outside of that run against USF at the end of the game most people couldn't name you anything else he did off the top their heads. Not saying he still be a good player but I never understood the hype and Clinton Portis comparisons

Why hasn't Lyle been playing?

My assumption is:

1) He's going to transfer because he hasn't been playing
2) He hasn't been playing because when he lost his starting spot to Pringle, he either got into it with the coaches, or they came to a "mutual understanding" he'd be moving on.

My questions (for anyone who knows about the situation):

1) Is that about right or am I way off?
2) Has he still been practicing this whole time?

I can't remember a player going from starter to not used at all this late in the season without some story behind it.
Idk what the injury was but I’m assuming he just got passed up was never back to 100% tried to come back early and just hasn’t looked right

That was more than enough for this board.

Seeing his snaps when he's been on the field do you really feel this thread is necessary? Who should he take snaps from?
