I'm a Lyle fan. But he got most of his yards after Martinez and Fletcher wore down the DL, and Cam Ward forced the secondary way off the ball.

The hype reminds me a bit of Daryl Porter love going on, when Tyrique and Ivey faced the WR1s and 2s, and Porter looked super impressive in 2023, then crashed back down to earth in 2024. Not saying Lyle will have the same result. He's got all the measurables to be great. I'm just saying expectations are crazy high, too high.

I really like our top end talent at RB, but I feel like we had better depth, and were much better equipped to handle a massive injury bug like we experienced a couple of years ago, with last year’s squad. I like the young guys but they’re unproven, and I would feel a lot more comfortable if we just had one more proven, veteran RB. The same conundrum can be said about our QB situation, as well. I think Nickel could be our QB of the future, but for 2025 we better pray Beck stays healthy.

Mirabal and Cristobal needs to have a sit down with a former Cane OL coach.... a 2x superbowl and 3peat killer Jeff Stoutland about blocking and run concepts... because the Eagles run game is a masterpiece. If we had that type of run game to go along with Ward's passing game last year.... JEEZ

Stout has the best OL in the galaxy, and, while UM's OL has really good to great talent, I'm not sure Stout's OL schemes will work for UM. But it can't hurt to talk to him about what he's doing there in Philadelphia.
