2027 Jordan Karhoff 4* TE from Columbus, OH (St. Francis de Sales HS) Commits to VTech

This kid seems like a good fit for what we would like to do on offense. What Arroyo brought to the table for us is the mold we should be following.

I know there's been all this talk about 12 personnel becoming more prevalent but with all the wrs we have and dawsons pedigree I dont see how 11 isnt going to be our primary alignment for a couple years unless we forego it and skip right to going 4 wide all the time.

I know we will be versatile but I dont see how a kid with prototype size and athletic testing at a position that really can stress a defense when you have other elite talents out there isnt something worth pursuing if the money is there to spend.

Maybe we already have a equal/better version of this kid on the roster and figure hes not worth the coin in this particular class.

VT is gonna become legit under Franklin
whats the definition of legit cause bemer had em legit and in a national championship.

Their issue will be.......NIL and no one really wanting to live in Blacksburg.

This is their bump class this and next year if Franklin doesnt win right away their money will dry up...cause they dont have much.

Lucky for them...Franklin knows how to eval pretty well.

They said they were committing money when Franklin interviewed.. I think they will be competitive because he wouldnt go if they werent..

Moving forward I see the ACC will be us and then everyone else. But, VT will be in contention for being the best team that isn’t Miami.

So let's see...

We lost Boris Karhoff, who would have been the second TE in our class. And we don't use the TE as much as we did in the 80s and 90s and 00s. And we have a WR who shattered all kinds of records as a true freshman and may be soon be the holder of nearly all of Miami's all-time WR records. Plus we landed Barkate in the Portal.

But I should be bothered...because Karhoff picked VaTech?

OK. Sure. Whatever.

Arroyo was really good -- highly-regarded coming out of H.S. Though more of a receiving TE, he could still block well enough to be of value. If we want that type, we'll probably have to pay up.

Mueller seems to be the closest we've had since Arroyo. Hopefully he is it.

The value of a TE is that the defense doesn't know how to handle him - they don't know if they should treat him as a blocker or as a receiving, but it only works if he can both block and catch at a high level. If he isn't much of a receiving threat, then you'd be better off just having another OL in there. And if he's a good receiver, but can't block, you'd be better off having another WR in there.

They could say what they want..they were worst off than we were as far as money towards the program...they are a feew shorts years on barely having merch for players i kid u not. and that as a nike school.

What money is at that school?. They probably shot their wad signing Franklin. Unless its some boosters that we dont know about...they just moving some of the school student money im guessing toward s the football program

Elite eval skills everywhere except Qb, which is his specialty. Crazy. 🤣

Clemson is still there..they arent falling out.
I can see programs like SMU, Ga Tech, and Louisville bumping Clemson down a notch (Va. Tech too if Franklin doesn't bolt to the SEC or B1G). Clemson needs to lean into the new age of college football or they'll fall back to what they traditionally are

Franklin is the perfect coach in today’s game for VT. They couldn’t have found a better fit than him.
