These numbers aren’t real but in the grand scheme of things are they really that outrageous? The dude could sit the year out and still be a first round pick. The 32nd pick signing bonus is over 5 million plus another 3-4 for the first year. We already see top guys sitting out to stay healthy, why not use that as leverage to get a NIl deal comparable to a rookie contract?

Same here. There is also a rumor floating around that Texas offered a $5m NIL deal. That’s just insane if true.
So in addition to whatever they offered Worthy to stay, they are also going all out on Addison? That's a serious commitment to WR on a team with so many other holes

That social security ax is a killer as you're resonsible for the full

Seriously doubt $750K is in the ballpark for Addison at this point
Social security tax is only up to the social security wage base (somewhere around $140k) and then it disappears. The Medicare tax is on the entire amount at 2.45% and I believe that there is a increase in this past a certain adjusted gross income threshold. Yes, as a contractor, he will have to pay both his share and the “company share”.

If true, that lends credence to my argument that in a decade we will have college teams with $100M payrolls. Great for the players, but only a few schools can play in that environment. It will be toxic politically and most schools will drop the sport within three decades.

Maybe. But how long before we see schools ask him to run 40 yards twice, perform measured vertical and broad jumps, do a 3-cone drill, and bench 225 lbs. for max reps. Also, give him a multiple choice test and interview. And get his height, weight, wingspan, and hand measurements.
