florida has a run heavy offense esp from the QB spot. they ran on everyone last year. he did his job well against UF and wasn't a mistake. we played UF how we should've. force franks to beat us and he couldn't. he gave us multiple chances to win the game and we messed up on our own. Franks is too strong for a striker as well. he's a big strong runner. you wanna keep franks in the pocket and let him be his own downfall.

have you noticed the QBs we played in 3 weeks? only 1 was a passer. the rest were natural runners
 
I hope Manny fires the whole defensive staff or at least part of it and improves on it. Hopefully it was like a last minute patch work when he got hired and his first full season he will be able to take his time and assemble a better staff.

Why are they asking him to play this way is the better question.

For the past 3 years, we’ve gotten pressure up the middle from agile, disruptive DTs. We’ve had havoc creating edge guys like Trent Harris, Garvin himself, and sophomore year JJ. We have none of that now and the result is a lack of a consistent pass rush.

I get that our LBs don’t move sideline to sideline that well, but what basically amounts to a position change for Garvin isn’t the answer. I don’t get this defense at all.

Truth of the matter is this has been a consistent problem beyond this year for Jon garvin. Its now been 9 games since the Boston college dating back to last year which is when garvin had his last sack . So It’s not just the new scheme(it’s true he’s being used a little differently) but still when he does rush the passer he’s not beating his guy like that.

people are so blinded that they look at stats instead of the game. the gator game is a prime example where our guys stood up to contain their running game and franks running and force him to beat us passing. if you look at the stats, they would not say anything to this point

Franks did beat us passing. That's a problem. We need more pressure on the QBs.

Agree Baker is terrible...

I was never that big on Jon Garvin in terms of ppl saying he was better than Joe Jackson but he is still an elite DE....

his lack of production this season is 1000% on Baker and also Stroud. Baker is doing dorito stunts with his DEs and Stroud is a JAG dline Coach.

Not allowing the DE’s to work but calling all that stupid stunting BS.

Gotta let the DE’s work so they can use their moves & counter moves...
