So you would take the chance?Just because Strong isn't getting the job done at Texas doesn't mean he would not do well at Miami. Strong is not at the top of my list but I think he would kill it in recruiting where he has struggled crooting at Texas for a number of reasons. Strong may not get a third year at Texas if they lose the last two games and his recruiting class remains below standard and does not have players who would give Texas fan reason to believe next year will be much better there.
If Strong is available, my guess is Miami goes hard to sign him.
Why would you think he will be successful here? Recruiting? We had Randy pulling the number 1 recruiting class in 2008 and failed to do anything with it.
If you are a good coach, you do well wherever you go. Case in point: Meyer. If you are a good coach you hire good assistants who will go and be successful somewhere else, e.g. Butch Davis. Does Strong have any of those skills? Recruiting alone won't take you very far.
