Jon Gruden on Denzel Perryman

Whomever drafts DP, is getting a very good player.

Doesnt matter where he's picked. He's going to play and play well.

Some teams are going to look stupid, but one is going to look like a genius.

Like a lot of others, I worry about him a bit in coverage.

i don't. most to all of our guys struggle in coverage. we create too much spacing by our scheme. still manage to snag a couple pics and really should of had more if it weren't for his hands

Gruden saying all the same stuff I've been saying, friends. Perryman's explosiveness jumps off the screen at you. You can't teach that, and it doesn't come around often. If your defense doesn't fit a guy like that, then you need a new defense. He'll be in the Pro Bowl every year.

Remember what a nice career Beason was putting together before injuries got him? Beason was nowhere near the explosive product player that Perryman is.

I think DP will be a stud in the league. our coaching "philosophy" makes everyone look bad in coverage.

he also probably got a bit too big and will improve his speed in the NFL. dude could play in any scheme. the height is not a factor

DP so underrated by these so called analysts it's not even funny. I would be shocked if he's not a multi year pro bowler.

Top 15 player in the draft. The NFL over emphasizes size and speed in the draft. Just watch Denzel's game film. You are not finding another backer at his level in this draft.

I thought Zach Thomas taught the league a thing or two about short, instinctive LBs.

He'll shed some weight, get faster but still be explosive. He's as solid as they come and hopefully goes in the first round. If we had competent coaches, DP would be a household name right now. He played through some of the worst defensive schemes I've ever seen. He's gonna be great in the nfl.

The main flaws behind Perryman is that he isn't great in coverage, not great speed, and struggled to shed blocks in college, His short arms don't help with that last one either. Looks to be a two down linebacker at the next level sooo yea he shouldn't go in the 1st.

Future HOF Zach Thomas says Hi.

Let's be honest NVA CANE....if we had a competent staff, we would have a legit 4 players drafted in the first round. Their stock is now rising b/c of individual game film and what they did at the Sr. Bowl and Pro Day.

UM didn't get the same media attention as a OSU, Bama, FSU, Oregon, or LSU. IF we played to our potential and won 10+ games like everyone predicted, Dorsett, DP52, Flowers, and Walford would all be considered first round picks. Duke would still be shafted b/c of his height, like Portis was coming out, but there would be no debate if he was a 2nd or 3rd round guy, he would be considered a borderline 1st to
2nd round guy. Golden cost his players money, period.

dorsett is considered a first rounder on some mocks, flowers too. walford they say is raw and still behind williams and ferryman could sneak into the end of the first round but most likely second bc of length and pass coverage
