His transfer from Trinity Euless to North Crowley has supposedly been turned down by UIL (TX HS football governing body). Most think he'll be playing at Trinity his senior year.

Meredith is still lining up official visit dates and, while nothing is set in stone, we're told that four schools are slated for trips this summer.

Alabama, Ohio State, Texas and Texas A&M are the schools in that group, but more could be added soon.

We're told that Meredith will take spring visits to Notre Dame and Miami.

Depending on how those trips turn out, he could return for official trips.

Texas A&M has been the longstanding favorite, but Alabama came on in the past few months.

We're told that those two schools are the likely leaders entering the spring as the race intensifies for the shutdown corner.

This is one where I'm happy to make the cut. I suspect we're on the outside looking in, but shooting our shot with recruits like this and making a top 6 for an out-of-state, unanimous 5* CB (without having a CB coach) says a lot about the national perception of our program among recruits.

Miami is aiming to make its move with the No. 1 cornerback in the country, John Meredith, and will have a chance to do that later this spring when the Hurricanes host the five-star cornerback for the first time. Miami, along with Notre Dame, are the two programs trying to get an official visit and make headway in his recruitment. Texas A&M leads on the Rivals RPM. If a decision were made today, I like where the Aggies stand. Alabama and Texas are two programs right behind the Aggies, leaving schools like Ohio State, Notre Dame and Miami in the mix and trying to close the gap as a decision approaches​

Miami is definitely a school on the rise in his recruitment.....Meredith hasn’t officially put out a visit date for Miami, but it is more than likely going to take place the weekend of April 18.
