John Houston

Zero shot. We have less a shot with Houston than we do with Green, and Green's odds are 1%.

didn't realize you knew Green so well....please explain the amazing insider info you have

Every single year we see posts like this about guys like Green and then every single year the dudes sign elsewhere and the posters got nothing to say.

5 star kid from Serra. 1% chance he goes ANYWHERE except USC. Period. And spare me the "but we got Kaaya" last year crap. We were the first in on him by a long shot and if we hadn't been he would be at UCLA right now.

Just because it hasn't happened in a while doesn't mean it wont happen ever again. I realize that it's hard to remain positive with all the recent negativity around the program but that doesn't mean we all should just assume the worst for every situation. Am I expecting him to come here? Absolutely not, however; I don't see the point in jumping to conclusions so early. Just let the situation play out and go from there.

lol, no insider info. Been around this recruiting game long enough to see this trend. I've watched this movie before and I know how it ends.

Fair enough I just always hope for the best, and it ends up always biting me in the *** haha

We have been down this road many times and have come up empty since Butch left....

Manuel Wright
Sedrick Ellis
Nathaniel Robinson
Ekom Udofia
Gerald McCoy
etc.

This program has not been able to land a nationally recruited out of state DT in over 10 years.

Damoine Lewis is really the last one.

Wilfork wasnt any good. :unconscious:

Wilfork is from South Florida...

The point is 100% valid, but Orien Harris was a big time recruit and more recent than Damione. Again... that was a long *** time ago and doesn't negate the point, just throwing that name out there.

Speaking of Damione and Texas kids in general, I went to see Dallas Skyline play last weekend. As per usual, no college team (not Texas, not TAMU, not LSU, not Baylor, not Alabama, not Florida State) had anywhere close to the amount of CFB apparel being repped as the U. South Dallas (Skyline, Desoto, Cedar Hill, all the Dallas ISD schools, etc.) freaking loves Miami. Armstead, K. Williams, D. Jones, and just that whole era really hit a chord with that community and they are diehards. I bet I saw at least 20 different people at a Texas HS football game in 2014 wearing Miami stuff, 10 years+ since our last good team. Idk wtf we don't recruit this area, there are mega bluechips every single year.

That's Interesting, I never been to Texas so that kinda cool. If i was a Scout i'm going to. Cal,FL,Tex,LA,GA and Up North for my lineman Great Lakes area. Golden has no clue what his Pipelines are here. that why he keep recruiting Jersey so hard, thats his only pipeline but not Miami's pipeline.

Good stuff, swag. I've always felt dallas/houston is the closest to miami in terms of football hotbed combined with a very urban area. Natural fit.

We've had great players from Jersey, but that ran dry for a while when those kids started going to USC. For OOS, I think we should focus on GA, Texas, NJ and Cali. Those kids seem to be the most receptive when it comes to moving away from home.

Remember when Lee, Farmar, and Woods were all coming?

Yup, keep wishing.

Dang it man, you took the words right out of my mouth!!! lol. I used to, literally, live 5 blocks from Serra HS....bruh, we got no shot at Serra kids. They may love to visit Miami, but USC and UCLA (and mostly USC) dominates Serra. That is literally a feeder school to USC. LB Poly and Serra will always be true pipelines into USC...the only shot we would ever have w/ these kids, like Concord De La Salle kids (ironically, I now work 2 blocks from that school), is if we win and we win often....we ain't pulling no top kids from TX or CA if we're not winning. ****, we can't even pull kids from our own back yards, and most of them were rocking Canes One-sies as babies and throwing up the U in pop-warner.

What about Bar Milo? I know he followed Kaaya but that's another stud from CA. I know it's only one more guy. But honestly I think there at least like a 15%. USC has been a **** hole as of late as well.

He doesn't have a USC offer

if Kaaya and Milo were from Serra and had a USC offer they would both be at USC. Their was a DE from Serra last year that we were recruiting for months. Then USC came with a late offer and he committed.
