Joel Klatt discussing the situation. Says Miami players will have trust issues with Mario now.

Dude, I respect you but you’ve posted this multiple times and it’s false.

Don Chaney had 102 yards rushing before the last fumble play, so I’m not sure what else they were trying to prove other than you play TUFF AND PHYZICAL TIL THE LAST WHISTLE BRO!

And Joe Klatt is absolutely right, whether y’all want to believe it or not. Why the flying f^ck would you trust a bozo head coach that won’t accept when a game is over?
dude he had 99 yards at the time.

He’s right on all accounts. From Mario to TVD.

When it comes to the trust factor he’s also absolutely right. This isn’t college basketball or baseball where you get 40-60 games. You get 12 and only 8 in conference. That’s why it’s magnified and it should be. This is most likely gonna cost Miami a trip to play for the conference title. The thing the kids worked for all year under him to do, and all their lives for.

Negative ghost rider. He actually eclipsed the century mark two plays prior.

I was told it came over the headset from an analyst upstairs once we got the first down. Said they will use their last TO and then snapping it with 2 on the playclock twice ends it with 1 second to spare.

Everyone knew. If Dawson didn't listen then I'd be encouraging him to seek another opportunity in 2024.

Worst case scenario is it was Dawson that didn't listen and Mario is getting more involved in it all this week as a result.

42:00 mark

Guy is trying to sound like an eloquent, insightful analyst. Fact is Mario DID take ownership, said he made a mistake publicly and reiterated the fact "it was a mistake not to take the knee, it is on me and I take 100% ownership". Players and staff have moved on.

We don’t need any blow hard to tell us about the fallout of the knee. It’s a cane thing and if this team is truly going in the direction Mario is working for, NC will have a tough game on their hands.

Nearly all the national sports media is using Kneelgate as an opportunity to trash and point and laugh at the program, because that's how that get their rocks off, hating on UM. For f*cks sake don't join in.
if we were 5-0 we wouldn’t be getting any publicity or love from the media. The hate is as real as my disdain for the media

Dont think he heard Mario presser yesterday before this was recorded. When this was recorded only thing mario said was post game where he fumbled around and said hold ball with two hand and didnt sound like he was accepting full accountability. he was coppin pleas postgame..

I dont completely disagree with him, to be honest...
I don't know how the locker room will actually feel but from a logical standpoint this decision seems like a much bigger deal because it is dramatic and embarrassing than because it means anything substantial about Mario's future performance as a coach. Simple decision errors like this are very easy to fix and could be done by an app/algorithm, I would be much more worried if the coach was embarrassingly wrong about something to do with technique, training, preparation, organizational leadership, etc. - something that suggested there were deeper deficits in knowledge and capacity as a HC

Gameday coaching decisions can mostly be pre-decided on a chart if you want, they are a little overrated imo, the deeper stuff is what you should need "trust" and "buy in" about.

It’s always the people wishing for a team’s failure that come up with this kind of crap. Fortunately, they typically are clueless and are just trolling for engagement.
What did he say that you dont agree with?

It was egregious was it not?
And I’m with him, TVD has a brain
And if Cristobal and Shannon are being idiots, fix it.
It would have been great if TVD called a **** timeout and went over to these buffoons and said we are taking a knee!
Would it not?

this is a game played by human beings with real emotions, and there's no sport quite like college football where emotions can truly impact performance. To say that this team may not fall apart or have a malaise that goes beyond this past weekend is incredibly naive.

That players will have trust issues with the coaches. That it is some massive breach of trust. He’s exaggerating — on steroids.

It is a freaking mistake. Players make them. Coaches make them. If the coaches stand up before the players, own up, and handle it properly, it actually could be a situation that bonds them and they rally around each other. They might dig in that much harder, etc.

Might there be trust issues or questions? Sure. But that was way over the top making it seem like a sure thing and comparing it to a spousal breach of trust (cheating), etc. That was pure buffoonery, IMO.
