Joe Yearby

I remember TokenCane mentioning at the time that other RB recruits were skeptical about Walton receiving preferential treatment in terms of playing time because his former HS coach is UM's current RB coach.

Check this out...

Yearby - 58 carries, 424 yards, 7.3 YPC, 4 TD
Walton - 46 carries, 184 yards, 4.0 YPC, 5 TD
Gray - 16 carries, 118 yards, 7.4 YPC, 1 TD

It should be noted that Gray's carries came exclusively in garbage time against Bethune and FAU. Hasn't seen the field on offense since. And Walton has been very effective as a receiver out of the backfield, so this isn't in any way a shot at him or the way he's playing.

But can anyone come up with an explanation as to why Yearby only has 12 more carries than Walton through 4 games, even though he's been so much more productive?

Watch against fsu he gets 25 touches, our defense plays aggressive and bush stays in the game. We win vs fsu n then go back to passive 5 safety rotation d and yearby getting 12-15 touches a game and lose every game after fsu.

I imagine he thinks of them as interchangeable parts unless one of them turns the ball over more than the other.

Can anyone explain why we rotate 5 safeties? Can anyone explain why bush after sitting the 1st half against cincy isn't playing every play in the 2nd half?

I don't understand why our staff subs the way they do. Pretty soon Kayaa will be splitting time with rosier

lol. yep.

His whole mindset is how guys fit into the system. It's a system for average players. He just doesn't seem to understand how to take advantage of talent.

Yearby should be getting carries until they stop him, then a few more. Backups used to get their reps b/c we beat the F out of teams by the 3rd qtr. Now, they're getting reps in the 1st qtr. Doesn't make sense to me.

+1

This is a perfect explanation of the **** show that we've seen over the last 5 seasons.

yearby 58 carries 424 yards 4tds 7.31 ypc

Why do we only give this kid 14 carries and 2 catches per game?!! Guy is a ******* BALLA!! Golden girl is just dumb af. Don't say it's cause he can't handle it. That's BS! give your best player the FAKKIN g. Rock!!!

He's going pro after next season. Why tf would he waste a year sitting out and when he can just leave early lol

He can make it but he's definitely playing all 4 years. He has to get a lot better. Much of his success was due to an experience team last year.

How many carries did EJ have in that classic UCLA game????

Yearby needs to pound the rock till his wheels fall off

I'm just wondering where all those people are who've been ****ting on him because he's not Dalvin Cook. Yearby has some of the best short area quickness I've ever seen, I bet his 3 cone drill at the combine will be ridiculous. Glad to see him killing it.

Yearby will be worn out in a few more weeks: 1) if we don't get this OL together and 2) start using Trayone Gray and Walter Tucker in short yardage situations.

How you call a 3 and 6 for a guy who averages 3 yards and leave the guy who averages 7 yards on the bench and in face of that your the worst team in college on third downs blows my mind. At that point I honestly think they were doing it on purpose. No one can be that dumb. Its almost like Penn State and FSU are somehow in on this whole thing.

I just cant get over that.
