I remember TokenCane mentioning at the time that other RB recruits were skeptical about Walton receiving preferential treatment in terms of playing time because his former HS coach is UM's current RB coach.
Check this out...
Yearby - 58 carries, 424 yards, 7.3 YPC, 4 TD
Walton - 46 carries, 184 yards, 4.0 YPC, 5 TD
Gray - 16 carries, 118 yards, 7.4 YPC, 1 TD
It should be noted that Gray's carries came exclusively in garbage time against Bethune and FAU. Hasn't seen the field on offense since. And Walton has been very effective as a receiver out of the backfield, so this isn't in any way a shot at him or the way he's playing.
But can anyone come up with an explanation as to why Yearby only has 12 more carries than Walton through 4 games, even though he's been so much more productive?
